Anyone know of an EASY website building program /can build site cheap?

we got a new drummer for my Pink Floyd tribute band. the old drummer was the web man and now i noticed he bitterly removed the site. I used to use this easy program but that was a long time ago.

dude, seriously look at wordpress. You can build a great informational site with very little knowledge. If you have a decent host, he can even do the install for you free of charge, then everything is pretty simple with a web interface, you can pick from the thousands of free theme layouts and you are on your way.

I wrote all my own HTML on Geocities. I don't think that's what Dickie's after.

Besides, PFSIKH's Geocities site is WAY more current than mine.

yeah but a blog can be pretty ideal for a band, with posts for show updates and stuff, plus you can create static pages for things like song downloads and stuff. Wordpress is pretty versatile with what you can do, I have even seen people use it to create ecommerce sites. A quick google hows someone already built a free wordpress plugin for touring bands to use to post their schedule on their wordpress site, gigpress

I would say use myspace for your band. They have a lot of nice built in features for bands, like the MP3 player and you can easily update performances etc.

No wysiwyg editor though. It is easy to add content but u would have to pick a free so theme and modify it slightly.

Download a free 30 day trial of Dreamweaver and use that? You can create text boxes and what not and it is really easy if you don't want to learn all the HTML etc. needed. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, though.

how much does WP cost?

it has a web interface, and is pretty much plug and play with a plugin style structure, you really don't need to use any coding at all, and once you have it set up, you can easily add posts, even setting it up so that you right and send an email to the site and it takes the email and reads the text and posts it onto the site. check out wordpress.com and wordpress.org. It is free, and most hosts will even install the application for free in a few minutes for you.

thansk for the help. i wound up finding webstudio 4.0. i used to use 2.0 and even 1.0. they were plagues with a lot of glitches, but i guess 4.0 fixed em. I downloaded a 30 day trial version and made this:
