faba
Updated March 2nd, 2005 The following is not a projection of how I feel the draft will break down but merely a list of players who have scouts and teams interest right now. For example, a potential late round pick could be moving into the middle round area, thus creating a buzz and earning them a spot high on this list. 1. Matt Jones, WR, Arkansas Showed the ability to play WR at the Senior Bowl and then amazed everyone in Indy by running a sub-4.4 forty. 2. Khalif Barnes, OT, Washington One of the most athletic offensive lineman available and could be the first or second OT drafted come April. 3. Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn May have moved to the top of the RB board due to his outstanding showing at the Combine in Indianapolis. 4. Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan The one guy everyone in the league seems to agree upon as an elite prospect and a lock for the Top 4 overall. 5. Marcus Spears, DE, L.S.U. A perfect fit along the line for the 3-4 defense that is becoming so popular around the league these days. 6. Cadillac Williams, RB, Auburn Stood out at the Senior Bowl and maintained that momentum by working out at the Combine in Indianapolis. 7. Troy Williamson, WR, South Carolina Everyone was waiting for him to make his move in workouts and he did just that by running a sub-4.4 time. 8. Jerome Mathis, WR, Hampton Simply the fastest player in the Draft and actually ran the best time in the history of the NFL Combine. 9. Adrian McPherson, QB, Florida St. One of the stars of the Combine and had the best workout among the QB's, which could land him in Day One. 10. Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn Thorpe Award winner who has everything you look for including size and 4.31 speed which he showed in Indy. 11. Luis Castillo, DT, Northwestern Has a rare combination of size and speed which could shoot him way up the charts in a weak DT class. 12. J.J. Arrington, RB, California Had a monster senior season for the Golden Bears and was one of the fasest running backs at the Combine. 13. Jovan Haye, DE, Vanderbilt Underclassmen who didn't have a huge junior season but showcased his athleticism and speed at the Combine. 14. Fabian Washington, CB, Nebraska Needed a great workout and did just that with sub-4.4 clockings in the forty, making him a Day One selection. 15. Brodney Pool, S, Oklahoma The best pure safety in the Draft, this guy is so athletic that some think he could even play cornerback. 16. Evan Mathis, OG, Alabama Has the physical tools you look for with great size, speed and strength and could be a Day One pick. 17. Courtney Roby, WR, Indiana The second fastest wide receiver at the Combine with a time of 4.33 which could put him in the Day One mix. 18. Ronald Bartell, CB, Howard Always had great size but with the way he ran at the Combine we now know he has the speed to play corner. 19. Chris Spencer, C, Ole Miss The cream of the crop at his position in what is widely considered to be a very strong year for centers. 20. Darryl Blackstock, OLB, Virginia Extremely athletic and can really get after the passer, there are a number of teams who absolutely love this guy. 21. Robert McCune, ILB, Louisville Freak of nature and a workout warrior, you won't find a more impressive physical specimen in this Draft. 22. Scott Young, OG, B.Y.U. A former DT who lifted 225 lbs. 43 times, setting the top mark for the bench press this year at the Combine. 23. Adam Seward, ILB, U.N.L.V. A nice player inside who had one of the better times in the forty at 4.60 at the Combine, which will help. 24. Michael Roos, OT, Eastern Washington One of the top sleepers in the Draft, Roos is moving up and may be a Day One pick before all is said and done. 25. Rob Hunt, C, North Dakota St. Small school sleeper who really got his name out there thanks to a terrific showing in Indy at the Combine. JonEJet
With Fergie possibly gone, Castillo might be just what the doctor ordered Also, I hope some CB's move up, with Mr. Thomas Davis moving down. I'd take it!!
