Barton
A real possibility. With DMCs character concerns, I would not be all that surprised if Mendenhall was the first RB selected. He's that good.

lawngnome o-line
The only RB we're getting at #6 is McFadden for the fact its a value pick. If we can't find a trade suitor we gotta grab him, although RB isn't our weakness we can sure use the homerun threat

BroadwayJoe12
In 3 years Mendenhall will be the better RB. But how could he be the best running back if he doesn't run a 4.3?? I don't get it, it's almost as if, other things besides speed don't matter? All kidding aside, even though i think mendenhall is the best rb prospect, I wouldn't even take him in the top 15 with the needs we have. But than again, I don't really advocate taking runningbacks in the top 15 in most cases.
Thai Jet
In 3 years Mendenhall will be the better RB. I honestly think he might be the better back right now. I think he'll have a better rookie season than McFadden. I know if we take Mendenhall at #6 I'm buying a Giants jersey and it's adios NY Jets. The Troll
No need to go RB at six. I've soured on McFadden a bit recently, and the only reason I really wanted him is because I thought he would be a very special player. Hopefully, they will sign a big back like TJ Duckett and have him split carries with Leon. Thomas Jones is ****ing useless.
Boozer76
In 3 years Mendenhall will be the better RB. He'll be better in the first year. The good thing for him is DMC will get Reggie Bush like coverage while Mendenhall quietly keeps having monster games.
jack48
A real possibility. With DMCs character concerns, I would not be all that surprised if Mendenhall was the first RB selected. He's that good. He is pretty fast and he actually has moves, unlike DMC, but I don't think someone will take him at 6, though.

faba
We need to fortify our lines is the number one priority for this team. If we do not Gale Sayers maybe the only back that might make a difference.

With all the dumb moves in the history off the NFL draft I don't think this one would even sniff the top. Not even the franchises dumbest move really since we have some real winners. drago
i agree with bartong, not that we need an RB (i mean, it would be nice...but still) Mendenhall is just a better player. It's too bad he played at Illinois and not a bigger football school. Maybe DMC's 40 time really sold all the scouts, but i'd like to think they'd look at other things than just speed...ya know, like fumbling, never breaking tackles unless its a cornerback. That statement is 100% true I love rashard mendenhall and mostly all the running backs in the draft but the jets do not need a running back we got two great ones. Why do so many people want a running back?

Irish Jet
If the Jets go Running Back at six it will be the dumbest move in the history of the NFL Draft, no matter who they take. No, No No!!!! I don't want us to take either Mendenhall or DMC if they're on the board but if we did I wouldn't complain. I would be excited that we have potential superstars on offence that could be elite players someday. Yeah sure the line blows, but that's thinking short term. We can build up the line in FA anyways with the likes of Faneca or Smiley, we could also draft offensive line later. The point I'm making is that you shouldn't pass up on exceptional talent just because it's not the main need, the needs can still be addressed. Oh and Thomas Jones blows, that would factor in to my feelings big time.

Barton
I'm not saying we should take him, just that we should consider him. But honestly, I started this thread because this forum isnt busy enough for IrishJet. All he wants to do is talk football 24/7, constantly refreshing the main page looking to reply to something, and I want to keep him happy so he doesnt go to JI. Iceman88
I'm not going to lie, if we sign Pace, Faneca, and Samuel or Gay during free agency and we drafted Jonathan Stewart at 6 I'd probably cream my pants. Mendenhall not so much.
