nico002
Adam Schefter reports that Herman Edwards is heating up the barbeque and should be ready to start cooking the 200 lbs of ribs that would then be shipped to the Jets for Coles and Pennington. PeterNorth09
Can the Jets please not bail Herm out and give him a good QB for next year? Unless Herm gets Pennington and Coles, he's going 3-13 next year with Croyle.

I want Herm done. I mean crawling on his knees after next season and begging Tony Dungy for an assistant job in Indy. Only way to guarantee that is by preventing him from getting a QB. 2008 Projections - KC w/Chad as the starter: 7-9 KC w/Croyle as the starter: 3-13 Let's stick the nail in the coffin. serphnx
I want Herm to stick around. He makes sure at least one AFC squad is mediocre at best. Agreed. At best they'll get in as a WC, where we can crush them by just keeping 8 or 9 in the box the entire time and playing recievers tight. It worked against us for so long, it can work for us too against him.
Maxman
The Chiefs ending up like they did killed this deal. The pick is too high and they know they have to rebuild.
PhinHater
I am happy to keep Chad here, especially if we have protection. Chad and Kellen are going to compete for the job, correct? I would like to keep Coles, but wouldn't object to trading him as long as we get another WR. Let's do another Moss / Coles trade!

shawn306
that Max reported on a couple of months ago? That would be negative. I think if the Jets deal Pennington it will come around draft day. I think all this talk about him competing for the starting job is nothing more than a smoke screen to drive up his value. All you have to do is look at how KC botched up on Trent Green going to Miami. They basically said he wasn't coming back in 07 and got basically zilch for him. (Not that he helped Miami anyway) If they had been smart and kinda of played it coy like the Jets are doing with Pennington they might have gotten more for him. Coles isn't going anywhere until the Jets find a suitable replacement. Like it or not he right now is still an important part of the Jets. Now that could change if the Jets sign a FA WR or draft one that can start right away but right now I don't see Coles going anywhere.
