Mo Lew
I know everyone needs credible printed sources and newspaper clippings, well I dont have either, all I have is an inside source in woody johnsons office ; SO heres the deal (believe me or not); Kris Jenkins for a 3rd and 5th is pretty much done; Vilma to the Saints for a conditional 2009 pick if he plays well its for a 1st if not a 2nd The Jets FO wants Faneca and they plan on signing him Roberston will be shipped to the Broncos. For what is still under negotiations.

The Troll
That's inside info? We all knew this already. No, we do not know the level of compensation in the Vilma trade. I hope to God he's right.
nico002
We did? I had no idea it was for a 1st or 2nd. Rumors were that it was for a 4th or 3rd. Even if we heard these rumors before. The fact that this supposedly comes directly from the Jets offices, gives us a little more hope no?

C-Mart28
Alright, I heard 1st round to 4th round. Which one is it ? It all depends on how much he plays and at what level. If he barely sees the feild, a 4th If he is a probowler, probably a first or second. Thats why it conditional

Scott Dierking
I have never seen a conditional pick with the spread of 4 draft rounds being teh condition. If that is the case, it is a dumb deal and the Jets should be criticized. I HIGHLY doubt the conditional portion of the deal is 4 rounds. An NFL team should never give up a player based on that unkown of a return, and is something they can not control

Scott Dierking
Yes they should hold onto him and get nothing for him I never said that. What they I am sure they did not do is make it a conditional pick that spans between the first and fourth rounds
Bravejamriot
so they should be criticized for giving themselves a chance at a 1st or even a 2nd if he performs well? Isn't a conditional spanning rounds 1-4 better than a conditional 3 or 4?
C-Mart28
My guess is that there is pretty much no shot at a 1, it probably isnt an option. If he goes in and just plays adequatly, thats a 3 If he goes in and lights it up, thats a 2 or if he goes in and dogs it or doesnt even play due to injury, thats a

Isn't a conditional spanning rounds 1-4 better than a conditional 3 or 4? If I am the Jets, and I have a team that is willing to give a "conditional" #1 pick, but the condition also involves that pick possibly slipping to a 4th round pick, I try and shop that player to other teams, rather than getting such an unknown return. OR, I narrow the negotiations being a 3rd round pick, with the possibility of a 2nd. I am sure that this is not a 4 round condition. If the Jets accepted that, they are not very smart. I don't believe they did.

For what is still under negotiations. i'm happy with a third for vilma, conditional second. If we by some miricle land a first for vilma, from a team that is notoriously a middle of the pack to below average team...we made out like bandits. Didn't we draft vilma at like 12? We'd be getting the same value back for him, along with our own first next year. Sounds like a steal. And good for the Saints, Vilma will play well for them in their 43. They already have a pretty decent front four, Vilma should be a great pick up for them.
flgreen
I don't think there is any way the Jets are getting a first for Vilma. I can't ever remember a conditional pick covering 4 rounds. Tangini have done some creative things in the past, so perhaps it could read like this. 1st round............Pro Bowl 2)..............starts all games, X amount of tackles 3) .............starts 12 games 4).............trips over the 50 yard line opening day and misses season. I suspect when all is said and done it will be a 3rd, which I am elated about.
Bravejamriot
I like you scale, but I doubt it can be contingent on tackles since it is not an official stat
