Man..Wilford would have been a nice pick up for us.

Even though he underacheived in Jacksonville I've always liked Wilford. Maybe it has something to do with him catching a last second, game winning catch in his 1st pro game to beat the Bills. Ahhh fond memorys indeed.

Am I missing something here? You guys wanted a WR that has never surpassed 700 yards in a season over 4 years and has 14 career TDS?

He has had a bad QB situation over the years and a loaded WR core. He is still young and could develope more - but I think he is a good WR even right now.

You know I used to think of things like this, but yesterday, something changed my mind. I was listening to 620am here in Sarasota. Ian Beckles, an ex NFL player (played for the Jets too I believe) was talking Free Agency. His co-host kept bringing up potential, learning the playbook (talking specifically about Michael Bennett here in the Tampa area), and other things.

He said.. "What has he done? When's the last time some team's backup went to another team and became a big time player? It just doesn't happen very often. If teams knew the guy would be a big time player, but was just behind a slightly better big time player, he would have been traded for value a long time ago."

I agree with this 100%. I think we GROSSLY OVERVALUE guys like Wilford because he's tall. Yippee. What has he done!? Close to nothing. Bad QB or not, he's done NOTHING and someone has to catch the balls. He has plenty of potential.. Potential only wins in Madden.

I agree with what he said - but to be fair his QB's have sucked. Leftwhich couldn't beat out Joey Harrington and although Gerrard played well this past season - he couldn't beat out Leftwhich. I agree it is rare - but ussually it is because of these types of situations that it occurs.
