afosomf
you take the best playa avail at 6, never draft on a need basis(9 times out of 10 you get screwed) IF DMC is the best playa on board you take him, also trade down possibility increases if he is there IMO Our OL should be much better, (2 #1 draft picks and an All Pro Guard) draft a RT in rds 2 or 3 and we are set. I think Gholston is a much better pick, plus if WE don't get him, the Pats do. And then we'd have to deal with him for the next 10+ years!! Mendenhal and Stewart are better than DMC!! Let the pats take vernon, last time they took a OSU grad they got burned bigtime with Katzenmoyer I think Vernon is a tweener and could be biggest bust on board Pats will take a CB or trade down IMO i also said the jets should prob trade down as Jerry will offer 2 #1 picks and a 2nd rd next year for DMC

124
If the Jets could get Gholston now the defense could do some work.. Agreed. The only thing the defense is missing right now is that pass rushing Outside Linebacker who can beat a Tackle or a Guard and get to the Quaterback (ala Shawne Merriman, DeMarcus Ware, etc.). Vernon Gholston has the potential to be that type of player. I wouldn't touch Calvin Pace with a 10ft pole. Stay at 6, draft Gholston and this defense is going to be pretty damn good in 2008. Favorite_Toon
Why talk ****? He is right. Mike Mayock doesn't even have him as the top RB in the draft. Mike mayock is retarded and just trying to be different... one of the things he showed on his eval of mcfadden was getting caught from behind by a linebacker... LOL First there was no room for macfadden to run anymoe there was a giy infront of him so the guy in back closed the gap cause mcfadden had to stop running.. Mayock makes that his point!! and guess what? week latwer mcfadden runs a 4.27 LOL NICE POINT MIKE!! COULDNT LIVE WITH THE PATS GETTING HIM..SORRY.. As much as I like LW he is not an everydown back and TJ cannot sniff goalline. Even with da bears he was bad in redzone. DMC is a home run threat and we have so little explosion plays. Coles will be gone as well. eveyone sh1t on the gints for taking too many DL in their recent drafts Look what that got them..so bottom line i would take DMC if trade value doesn't bring us much. I hear Olivea may be coming to jets as well so OL is set.

I'm tired of you saying Mayock is a good evaluator than a bad one. Everytime you bring up Mayock in reference to McFadden you say that he's crazy or that he didn't show anything important when he showed the videos. News Flash champ* he didn't just show him getting caught from behind, he showed him with 0 leg drive and that he goes down right after contact. Funny how you didn't mention that part. Next, when you were refuting gholston, you said that Mayock said he dissapears far too foten. However, once again you failed to mention that he said he was inconsistent against the run when using his leverage, but when he uses the leverage he is very stout against the run. He also said he has the best first step and explosion of any defensive player in the draft. But i guess you don't find that important I don't understand how you can tear mayock down for bashing mcfadden, but than when you take a part of his commentary on Gholston you act as if he is a very good talent evaluator. You can't say he's nuts for not having mcfadden ranked as the overall back and then go and use his talent evaluating skills for knocking gholston. I suggest you respect mayock's opinion as he is a very good talent evaluator and maybe understand that he has mendenhall ranked #1 for a very good reason. Such has; he ran in the 4.4s weighs 15 pounds more, is much more solid, has a better leg drive and than the most important thing ** He had the fastest 20 yard shuttle.**
