#27TheDominator
Derrick Ward is a free agent. Remember him? IIRC, Giants took him off our practice squad. Did a nice job in '07. Supposedly the Giants only offered him a one year deal and he's testing the market. Obviously I'd only be interested if he were cheap, but I always liked the guys running style. Ward is only 228, so we may be better off with a bruiser like Duckett as a compliment, but Ward seems like a good player and he obviously likes the area. I saw him on the UFA list the other day and it did cross my mind. Honestly I'm shocked to see he's not being mentioned a lot more often around the league. He was AWESOME for the Giants this season when he started and I would love for the jets to bring him in if he's not getting any huge offers. RB isn't a no. 1 need but if you can get one as good as Ward on the cheap then do it. Oh, and you're right about the Giants nabbing him from us. He didn't make the roster becuase a sore ankle limited his activity in the pre-season so he was put on the PS.
RSJ
It would make sense to fill our 3rd RB spot with someone like Ward.
4HCrew
Doesn't he have a pretty big injury history? I think the Jets will go with a cheaper option through the draft

I think the Jets will go with a cheaper option through the draft Yep, he's hurt a lot. Also a guy that could have have been a monster (big college, top measurables) otherwise. I think that Ahmad Bradshaw's success cost him a lot of money because teams are wondering if anybody can run behind the Giants line. I agree he's not a likely option, or even a smart one, but he's interesting and if you could get him for a cheap backup's deal I'd consider it.
