124
From Cimini's article today: The Jets are pursing Cards LB Calvin Pace, scheduled to visit this weekend, Patriots CB Randall Gay, and former Chargers RT Shane Olivea. Verrrrrrrrrrry interesting. This Offensive Line could turn into one of the best in the NFL with Faneca and Olivea. Just sayin'.
RSJ
Interesting. I like Olivea - but what scares me is that he reportedly lost his job last year because of his work ethic.

drago
i'm with 124, brick-faneca-mangold-moore/rookie-Olivea would be very dangerous. Excuses would go straight out the window for Kellen. I don't care who is playing receiver, with that line in front of you, you need to make plays.

PantyHose&Furs
agreed...that is the line i want...we add a linebacker, another receiving threat and a veteran corner opposite revis and we've got a team that can compete while kellen learns the ropes... lawngnome o-line
I'll 100% take anything that will help upgrade the O-line, and Olivea would fit the bill
BReal32
this would be a great o-line with those names on it. and like Panty Hose says, if we get a good deep threat, this offense will be good to very good. it'll be fun to watch again. fill the hole that vilma left and the defense will be exciting too. DaBrick Wall
Combined with Javon Walker and possibly McFadden, that offense could be deadly.

jetfan4hire
The Jets have inquired about free agent OL Shane Olivea. The team has its new left guard (when Alan Faneca officially signs on the dotted line), and could use an upgrade at right tackle. Olivea is a NY native. Barton
Olivea got a big contact last year and then promptly turned the jets off (no pun intended). Pass.

Thai Jet
I first mentioned Olivea here 2 days ago when he got released by the Chargers. I think he'd be a perfect fit at RT for us. He's been a starter for SD for 4 years after being a 7th round pick out of Ohio St. I'm guessing that perhaps that big contract he signed after the 06' season made him a bit complacent and he lost his hunger. I'm betting that he's got a point to prove now after his realease and the hunger will be back.

flgreen
I'll love this!! Brick just needs to gain some damn weight. That's the truth. The kid seems to gain weight in the off season, but can't hold it as the season wears on. I nominate you to follow him around in the off season and keep on dropping HGH in his diet Cokes

flgreen
we could go from having one of the worst offensive lines last year to probably one of the best the next! I agree If they sign this guy, get Gholson at 6, and perhaps a WR in the second. This team may truely be a contender, I'm started to get excited. That scares me. The Jets always seem to find a way to break my heart
DMaynard
If the Jets get Faneca and Olivea, Brandon Moore will be their 5th best o-lineman. That is a good situation, especially when he is the RG (the least important o-line position). When Brandon Moore is your 3rd best o-lineman (last year), that is a bad situation. Irish Jet
This would be a great signing for us. I'm glad to see our FO really focusing on solidifying the most important positions in football, and those are in the trenches. I really think we'll make the playoffs in 08, Olivea would only make me think stronger about that.
