FALCONS SNARE COLEMAN

The post-Vick Atlanta Falcons have made their first free-agent acquisition.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Jets safety Erik Coleman has agreed to terms with the Falcons.

It's a four-year, $10 million deal, with a signing bonus of $3 million.

Coleman was a fifth-round pick of the Jets in 2004. He started in every game of his first two seasons, but started only four times in 2007.

They also say Calvin Pace's dealing's with Miami aren't a done deal:

Per Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official web site, Pace has not struck a deal.

"I got a text from Calvin Pace this morning saying he has not agreed to any contract yet," reports Urban. "So that would mean the SI.com report that he is a Dolphin is premature. It doesn't mean he won't end up in Miami, but again, nothing is final. Just thought I would throw that update out there, after all the confusion of Friday night. Pace is supposed to visit the Jets today."

this leaves us with Abram Elam left at SS...thoughts on him?

i like his intensity but sometimes it gets him in trouble!

Elam and Eric Smith. As the article says, Coleman only started 4 games in '07. The other twelve were started by Smith and Elam. I have absolutely no problem with those two, Darnell Bing, maybe a late round project competing in camp.
