jet fan stuck in maine!
as much as i love chad, clemens is the guy we go with. I'm so sick of seeing 38 guys in the box or db's ten yards down field i dont care if its jones dmc or barry sanders our team will be handcuffed on o. With clemens the d has to play honest and that will let our rb's run better not to mention with the o line upgrade(s) we may score more tha ten points a game. I dont care if clemens throws 12 times a game and has a pick here or there we will be more able to control the game and heaven help us win a few! HuRRiCaNe ViLMa
Agreed. Time to hand over the reigns to the second round pick. I like what I saw from him last year - when he wasnt getting planted b/c of our JV o-line.

jet fan stuck in maine!
Here we go again. i know it's getting old but do we really have choice, chad can not throw deep at all, if everything was play action great but it's not. If we can run the ball this year that will help clemens get a better feeling for the o and not feel like he has to win the game by himself. Welcome to the board, I look forward to reading your posts and to seeing your first "Here we go again" post. The Chad v. Clemens debates always have a place here.... always. Irish Jet
I'd almost be willing to bet that Chad will be the starter in Week 1. Mangini loves him and I just can't see Kellen beaing him out in camp.

What he said. This is Chad's team. Look at his past success we had good OL in his success. When he was bad we didn't have an OL. Now once we get Woody our OL will be a strong point on this team which equals Chad gets us in the playoffs. If Kellen starts I won't mind as either one of these guys can do good things with a good OL, but as of now Chad's the guy. Maybe training camp says differently, but we'll just have to wait. TheSage
How many intercepted out patterns will it take to convince some of those on the coaching staff and in this forum tat Chad (who I love) can't cut it anymore. An out should be thrown with some velocity not a lob.

An out should be thrown with some velocity not a lob. Agreed. But a team doesn't spend this much coin in an off-season & have the only viable QB on the team as a 3rd year player with half a season of starting experience, and who didn't exactly light it up over that span. I'm no fan of Pennington's play, but unless we bring in another experienced starter, I can't see us letting him go. This is not like last year, where the it's-not-happening-this-year was pretty obvious early-on. A RT and an OLB, plus a couple of upgrades at WR and CB, makes us contenders with good QB play (and good coaching). If he brought us a championship -- or even brought us to a SB that we lost -- I'd lick Pennington's sweaty balls and ask for seconds. I don't care who gets us there; only that we get there. jet fan stuck in maine!
i hear you gays, not saying let chad go( if right deal comes along maybe) but clemens gives us a chance to keep things a little more open for our play calling. i'd love to have chads services for us, i thing he can still play if o line gets it together d plays better, the guy put his heart into this team, so if he does start lets hope some of those things come together for us and he more than likely will be fine, but like u guys say it happens up front, must start this year trying to run 1st throw 2nd, then he'll be fine to go play action. PeterNorth09
Clemens sucked last year. I really cannot understand why so many Jets fans are so high on this guy and want Chad kicked out of town like like last year.
