Monte Carlo or MGM grande?

The Monte Carlo had a fire recently. I'm sure they are open, but maybe look elsewhere? MGM Grand is huge - 5,000 rooms.

Never been to Planet Hollywood out there, unless the Aladdin changed its name. I know the Flamingo is dead-center on the strip, and they have a large Margaritaville bar. I would go with the Flamingo.

Which one is better to stay at in vegas? ...or Flamingo or Planet Hollywood?....They are all pretty much the same price (from what I've found).

My mom and her boyfriend have been going to Vegas for 7-8 years now, few times a year. They always stay at the Flamingo. Good location, good price.

MGM by far. I've stayed there quite a few times and love it.

Vinny, Given these choices I've got to go with anskyrubin. Easier in/out if you exit the parking lot by Tropicana Blvd. (there's a light there) plus there's an Exit on I15 for Tropicana so if you want to go anywhere you can just hop on the Interstate instead of using the %^*$# strip which is a pain in ther butt if you're trying to actually drive on it to go somewhere. Have a great time Vinny.

Or I can just stay 10 miles away at nellis afb which is like 30 bucks a night.... If I did that, where would I park my car and how much would it cost to park? ...if the cost of parking offsets the savings on hotel, I would rather stay in the mgm....ya dig? Thanks.

Good news Vin, Parking at all the hotels on the strip is free. Just be sure to remember wear and what level you parked at. The Tropicana (across from MGM) is nice to park at since it's a surface lot. It's free at certain spots downtown at night near the El Cortez near 6th and Ogdan but you've GOT to be aware of your surroundings at all times if you catch my drift. DON'T wander too far from Fremont street unless you're packing, SERIOUSLY .

Thanks bro, that was a very helpful post. I will save alot of money staying at the afb....so I can put it to good use at the hold em table...lol. Packing? Is it really that bad there? I will stay on the strip. I plan on playing at the mgm and planet hollywood....and maybe just peek into the bellagio, wynn, and venitian just to see what all the hype is about.

Go to the Flamingo. it's in the best area on the strip. Caesars palace and the mirage are right across the street, and the monorail is right next door in Harrahs. and you're close to casino royale if you want to learn how to play craps for a dollar.

I don't like the area by MGM(I hate excalibur and the luxor), and I don't like the casino in MGM..it's too damn big.

Yeah, after midnight you're ok if you stay under the lights, but I wouldn't stray too far.

good advice here. ceasars is my favorite hangout in vegas. short walk to the bellagio. you may as well check out the fountain show at the bellagio.

Also closeby is imperial palace. they have this huge outdoor courtyard with bars & a stage thats actually a pretty fun place to hangout if ya wanna actually be outside for a bit. If you wanna feel like yer outside but don't actually wanna be then walk the forum shops & look up.

How's the fake grass at the Imperial Palace?

I'm going by myself....is that a bad thing? Should I watch out for someone trying to take advantage?

Yes, if any women approach you chances are they're trying to take advantage of you. And if a prostitute named "Bubbles" tries to pick you up. Run far far away. That's Max's professional name. If you wake up in a bathtub packed in ice don't say I didn't warn you.
