The Troll
Anyone else got it yet? The new pitching system is total ****. I'm switching it back.
JetsMan57
How is the game play in general? Is it better than last years? MLB The Show is really good I hear, but i love the signature styles that 2K has.
PhinHater
I was actually considering getting this. I have not played any of the earlier versions. Do you guys recommend it?
war ensemble
Aynone with a PS3 should definitely get The Show instead.
TaborJet
I picked up 2K8 yesterday. I tried MLB The Show's demo, and while I like it, I still like the 2K series. Also of note: In the store where I bought the game, the salesman stated that 2K8 is shutting out The Show.
madmike1
I picked up 2K8 yesterday. I tried MLB The Show's demo, and while I like it, I still like the 2K series. Also of note: In the store where I bought the game, the salesman stated that 2K8 is shutting out The Show. You sure about that? Thats the only time i've every heard that. The Show is getting better reviews across the board and I can tell you from playing both that it's a better game with many less bugs.

I had MLB 2K7, so I am used to the controls.
JetsMan57
The show is really tight and probably has the better game play but I love 2K's signature styles, Im a huge mark for that stuff so ill sacrifice a little game play. The Show's signature styles are atrocious from what ive seen in the demo. I heard they got their cover boy's batting stance wrong for crying out loud. So many premiere players have incorrect stances/pitching deliveries its like playing triple play baseball or something.
JetsMan57
I played a few games and im not feeling this year's 2K too much so far. I really liked last year's and thought just the home run problem and a few other little things held it back. I cant put my finger on it but this year's game seems lifeless. The graphics took a big step back, last year's plaeyr models were awesome, this year they look terrible. The framerate is atrocious too, way too much stuttering. I may have to make the switch this year if i dont warm up to the game.

ShadowJet35
Good game, but the pitching is absolutely $hit. i can't stand it....
The Troll
I switched back to precision pitching, which I felt was perfectly fine in the first place. Maybe they should have taken the resources they used on "total control pitching" and made the game run smoother. The batter's eye also doesn't work, so I can never, ever walk unless it's intentional. There is no time to determine ball or strike, so I pretty much swing at everything. So, it's like Alfonso Soriano has rubbed off on the entire team. Good game, otherwise. I loved 2k7 and I must say, I was expecting a little more from this one. At least 2k TRIES to give baseball fans a good game, unlike their peers at EA with the NFL. I heard 2k will release a patch to fix the framerate. Im trying to get used to the new pitching/hitting systems but they are getting on my nerves. If you want to draw walks put the AI strike sliders on 0. The game developer admitted that he doesnt like waiting araound and drawing walks when he plays baseball games so dont expect 2K to have many of them.
