pixel.gifIn addition to DB Eugene Wilson, free agent FB Tony Richardson visited with the Jets on Wednesday.

The Jets aren't done spending just yet. If Wilson gets out of New York without a deal, he'll head to Tennessee. Richardson is also on the Rams' radar.

Isn't Richardson up there in age?

If the Jets really do sign Richardson, I really see them drafting McFadden if he's on the board @ #6

Im in love with Gholston and really wanna see Gholston as a part of this Front 7 for years to come with Harris as our MLB

But lets all keep in mind that Richardson blocked for a rookie in Peterson last year for the Vikings, maybe Mangini took note and plans on having Richardson block for our own rookie in McFadden?

Pretty sure we're evaluating Richardson as a blocking FB--period. Not as a rookie-RB lead blocker. Adding him to the team would create one of the best power-running teams in the league, why'd we mess that up with fragile-legs Mcgfaddenhaggen... ?

Richardson could open holes that Damien Woody could run through, I think Thomas Jones, Mr. Washington and whoever we get for the #3 would be very grateful for this signing.

I hope it happens.

Jets are REALLY CLOSE to signing Richardson

Wednesday, March 05th 2008, 8:34 pm by Gary Grund

Kevin Seifert of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Jets are currently in contract negotiations with 3-time Pro Bowl fullback Tony Richardson, formerly of the Vikings.

Richardson, 36, spent the first 11 seasons of his career with Kansas City before signing on with Minnesota in 2006.

Yes Richarsdon is 36 years of age, he should have another 2 maybe ever 3 strong seasons left before calling it a career.

Richardson has blocked for Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Adrian Peterson... Just about every running back rushes for over 1200 yards behind this blocking FB. The Jets have been looking for a blocking FB ever since Mangini been here, and looking hard, just go ask "Barnes".

Im all for signing this veteran FB! A 2-3 year deal would be perfect

T rich also blocked for priest holmes which held the record for 27 rushing touchdowns 3 or 4 years back..when he was a chief i was a chiefs fan. i converted the 06 season when we went 10-6. T Rich is a very outstanding blocker, a great leader, and overall a badass at FB. this guy has the experience but to top it off this guy has class. one of the best players ive ever watched play the game.

Sorry to be OT, but just out of curiosity, if you live in Kansas, how do you go from being a Chiefs fan to a Jets fan? I mean, I think the Chiefs play in KC, Missouri but still.. now you're really reaching.
