Running back Dominic Rhodes agreed to a restructured contract which dropped his salary from $3 million to $1.75 million. Rhodes was also scheduled to receive a $2 million roster bonus Friday, and it is a safe bet that he agreed to take much less. The Raiders reduced the salary of LaMont Jordan in a similar fashion last season.

Will they skip DMC?

I really don't see them taking McFadden. Fargas, Rhodes, LaMont, and don't forget about Michael Bush either. They have too many other positions of need and too much money already tied up at RB to add a high-priced player there.

Sounds like you're describing the Jets.

- We still need a WR (two WR's if you count the possibility of Coles wearing out his welcome before the summer ends).

- CB

- RB who is appropriate for short-yardage (DMC doesn't qualify)

- QB maybe after this year if Clemens isn't the answer.

A team can't have $12M/yr tied up at RB and releasing Jones isn't a realistic scenario cap-wise. We're not dumping all that $$$ on our OL and another FB just so to throw still more $$$ and an ultra-high draft pick on yet another RB.

Not saying it's you personally, but so many people think this one player is the answer to everything, and that DMC - and ONLY DMC - can furnish us with a good enough running game. Lunacy.

The Raiders IMO will target the DL and pick either Dorsey or local boy (USC) Ellis.
