InstantClassic 51,257
Smoltz/Hudson Smoltz/Glavine
Blackout 63,373
Smoltz/Hudson Smoltz/Glavine hudson/smoltz is a nice tandem i forgot that but GLAVINE?? maybe ten years ago he would make that a good tandem
Lurker 21,141
no way do the Braves tandem match up with some of the others
Blackout 63,373
no way do the Braves tandem match up with some of the others i don't know hudson: 224.1 IP 16-10 record 3.33 ERA 1.22 Whip smoltz: 205.2 IP 14-8 record 3.11 ERA 1.18 WHIP thats 30-18, ERA around 3.22 ish and whip around 1.2, thats not bad. Lurker 21,141
more referring to smoltz and glavine. Smoltz is 41 and Glavine is 42.
Blackout 63,373
haha oh yes. very true. i say haren/webb is the best combo. Brandon is due for more Cy's in the future even though i thought Oswalt deserved the one Webb got

Blackout 63,373
Tell you one thing. Wang/Pettite may be the worst tandem you listed on there. Yankees should have traded Kennedy for Santana straight up when they had a chance. Kenedy will be a good pitcher but the Yankees have no ace right now. Pettitte should be out of prove people wrong Wang has 38 wins in 2 years
CrazyCarl40 53,211
I went Beckett/Dice-K because of what Beckett can do in the playoffs.. although Carmona and Sabathia would probably be right behind them.

Arsis 16,841
Whoever picked Wang/Pettite is a total homer. This coming from a pretty big Yankees homer.
Blackout 63,373
The best? No. But I would take them over a couple of the tandems you mentioned, Wang/Pettitte among them. 2007: wang and pettitte: 3.88 ERA, 1.363 whip 34-16 414.7 IP lilly and computer porn guy: 4.06 ERA 1.239 whip 33-18 423 IP now, wang and pettitte have to go against Big Papi and all these DH's while the NL has pitchers batting i disagree sir. Arsis 16,841
I'm not saying that wang/pettite is a bad duo, just that they aren't the best in the league.

Sharrow 37,774
I'm very much impressed with Wang. I mean a pitcher that relies that much on ground ball outs with Derek Jeter playing SS behind him? And putting up the kind of numbers he's put up the past two seasons? Wow. Not the best though.

Wang is a very good pitcher two 19 wins seasons in a row isn't an easy thing to do, and Jeter isn't as bad at fielding as everyone makes him out to be. He isn't the best, but he is far from the worst. Isn't c.c. sabatthia a F.A next season and he would only be, what 28-29? If so the yanks should sign him to replace pettite or moose and go with a rotation of Wang, Huges, JOBA!!!! Kennedy and C.C. That would be a pretty good rotation. Stop treating me as some M*dM*k* (I am not allowed to say his name) monster of a poster who you only post to get a rise out of. You are some real attention whore. In order to be considered as a #1 and a #2, (Joba, Hughes) shouldn't part of the criteria be that you actually START?
