He won more games... Namath got lucky ONE YEAR... with a team of players witth heart around him...

Namath never came close again... Chad wins and gets to the playoffs every year that he is the guy and has a real team around him.

No one told Chadwick to throw that pick 6 to Asante Samuel.

I never get involved in these chad vs. clemens debates or whether chad is our starting QB, but when you mention arguably the most important person in jets history as being worse than chad that's where i will step in.

Namath got lucky?? Ok pal, when chad helps to reinvent the QB position and helps create what the NFL is today than you can come talk.

In an era without all of our fancy shotgun formations and spread offenses Mr. Namath became the first quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a season; i beleive he is still the only QB to have done so in a 14 game season. He also led the league in passing three times; chad hasn't ever thrown for 4000 yards or even come close leading the league in passing. He threw for three td's to come back and beat the raiders in order to get to the superbowl, which he beat the all world Baltimore Colts. He turned down joining the NFL and chose to go to the AFL; he was one of the main reasons the AFL was able to remain competitive for all those years.

Yes, Namath was hampered by injuries the rest of is carrer, leading people to speculate he sold his soul to the devil. But, I would take one ballsy superbowl win that he gave us compared to one good season followed by a handful of injury riddled mediocre seasons that Chadwick has given us.

I've always liked chad to, but your comment forced my hand on this one.

You need a QB that throws hard to not throw water pistals to his WR's and floaters if Chad starts again the season is done for me i can not stand year by year with having a heart attack over what play does Chad get hurt in. Next season he wont be a Jet MARK MY WORDS.

Chad i have respect for the guy and he gave all he can for the Jets and never complain and bitched and moaned. But his lagging injuries have hurt his production. So KELLEN IS THE STARTER in my mind and head.

Be realistic....Tom Brady couldn't lead the Jets to the super bowl next season. They have improved but have a ways to go. I'll be happy with 9 and 7 and a possible wild card.

Chad will be the NYJ starting QB this season and will lead the NEW revamped NYJ to a superbowl this season!

Just a question for those that think chad can still be an effective starting QB; how come all those teams that need a starting quarterback, like atlanta or minnesota or chicago havn't made a deal for him?? Maybe they have and it hasn't been good, but if these other teams are considering drafting a first round QB they will obviously need someone to play now, why havn't they made a play for him?? Atlanta was forced to resign harrington. It just seems that the only people who think chad is a starting quarterback are certain jets fans and members of the pennington family.

I would dare anyone to find an article that has a NFL scout, GM or COach say that he can be a starting quarterback in this league; they can't be the scout, GM or coach from our team either. It's also very telling when not a single fan of another team would even entertain the idea of trading a 5th rounder for him. I know none of this stuff matters, but it's just funny how only certain jets fans seem to think he's a viable starter. I would just like to find an article or anything saying how another team would like him or how he's capable of being a good starter (it must be from this year or so, not a 2002 one).

Two Reasons:

1. They've had talks but Tangini wants to keep Chad.

2. Tangini hasn't received a good offer yet.

I agree with the Chad haters that he'll never win a Super Bowl, I just think if we get rid of Chad we better bring in someone legit to replace him.

Definately a possibility and i know our organization is known for being secretive, but most other clubs aren't. If there were legit talks for chad I would bet good money that it would be reported somewheres, but ya never know.
