Diddy denies LA Times' Tupac story

By SANDY COHEN, AP Entertainment Writer

LOS ANGELES - Sean "Diddy" Combs has denied a report by the Los Angeles Times that his associates were responsible for the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur at a New York recording studio, and that he knew about the attack in advance.

"The story is a lie," the hip-hop mogul said in a statement Monday. "It is beyond ridiculous and completely false. Neither (the late rapper Notorious B.I.G.) nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during or after it happened. ... I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story."

The 1994 shooting triggered the celebrated feud between East and West Coast rappers that led to the killings of Shakur and B.I.G.

The Times said its story was based on FBI records, interviews with people at the scene of the 1994 shooting, and statements to the FBI by an informant. None of the sources was named. The story says associates hoping to curry favor with Combs

I strongly recommend the documentary Biggie & Tupac. Even if you don't like rap it's very interesting. They find out who actually pulled the trigger on Tupac. It was a crooked LA cop on the payroll of the Blood Gangs. They even have video of this guy robbing a bank and he's a cop. Police will never clear the case b/c the investigation would open up a lot of ugliness in the LAPD.

Interesting, you would think they would have to clear the case cause the documentary esposes it. Its too bad it could not have been one of those other rappers, i cant even think or their rediculous names.

Are there any other kind of cops? Seriously now. Especially in cities.

My dads a cop. You are very offensive.

Just kidding 124, but some are good, the ones who care more about the people than the money. And can satisfy their needs with lots of donuts.

Usually the crooked cops are in the cities such as New York, Detroit, LA, etc. If your dad is a cop in a major city, I hope you're correct about him. Sometimes though, you just never know.

You live by the violence and you die by the violence, I mean... 2Pac and Biggie both played a deadly game, talking about killin eachother, the whole 9... Did any of them deserve to die? Nah, no1 does, did they have it coming to them? Prolly so.

In my eyes, violence is one of the worst things in the world, im 22 now and lost my older bro (RIP) when I was 15, he was only 24 but at the same time, he was in the Latin Kings in Queens, and just living the wrong life... I learned alot from my older bro and one thing I learned, yeah, sometimes you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but honestly, we all make our own choices and alot of times, the choices we make in life are the choices that put us in the wrong situation

Violence can strike at any time, and it can be a random dirve by shooting, it can be a person who just had a bad day, but most of the time its over money, drugs and gangs, if you dont sell drugs, if your not in a gang or your not crossing other people over money... Chances are that ALOT of trouble will stay away from you.

Cops are just regualr people, its a job to them, they cant save the world, they can only respond to the scene after the fact and they can only TRY and slow the crime down in the city. I look at it like this, yeah some cops are dirty, but most cops are cops because they care, who wants to see people sell crack to people hooked on drugs? Who wants to see woman get beat by men? Who wants to see cars get stolen from single mothers? I mean most cops I feel have a good heart and wanna try and help people out more than just arrest the kids for weed. This world is full of crime and hate, and yeah sometimes a serial killer can become a cop and have a gun and a badge but most of the times cops are just like regual people and they dont like to see others hurt. Sometimes I think cops have a little 2 much power, but thier not the judge, they can arrest someone but they cant convict them and if someone is really innocent, the facts should come out in trial. Just think about no cops in America, it would be a war zone like the middle east here

Corruption starts at the top. Many cities have corrupt police forces only because they have an administration and city government that encourages it. The Detroit police department is probably one of the most corrupt departments in the entire country, and when you look at who's running the city, you can see how it got that way. The few decent people on the department have either been fired or forced into retirement for trying to act as whistleblowers. There are plenty of corrupt cops in cities, but there are also plenty of decent people working in NYPD and elsewhere that are doing it the right way.

Most cops are decent people. I think too often people often give their kids this idea that police should be a group of people who are to be feared and wary of rather than people who should be respected and are there to protect you. Most cops are regular people just trying to earn a living for them and theirs.
