PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Eagles signed Dan Klecko on Monday, and plan to convert him from defensive tackle to fullback.

The 275-pound Klecko has played defensive tackle and special teams and served as a short-yardage fullback for the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts. The Eagles will use Klecko as a full-time fullback.

The Eagles did not re-sign last year's starter at fullback, Thomas Tapeh. They also have Jason Davis, who spent last year on the practice squad, under contract.

In 47 games, Klecko has 39 tackles and three sacks and has caught four passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. He also had a touchdown catch in the Colts' 2007 AFC championship game win over the Patriots. A native of nearby Marlboro, N.J., Klecko was the Big East defensive player of the year in his senior season at Temple and was a fourth-round pick by the Patriots in the 2003 draft.

I thought this was interesting haha

I wonder if they'd switch him back to D if they had injuries?

Because he is at 275 pounds *a FB size* because he played some offense with the Patriots in middle of the season and Eagles proably saw that as a advanged to them. Plus with that size he can probaly trun out into a better blocker than anything else.

I see him as a blocker/ another reciver to throw to on the back field when LB's are chasing after Westbrook
