DHJF
He found Charlie (his pet hamster) lifeless when we came home from soccer practice. He's had him for nearly two years. Poor little guy cried his eyes out. Kept asking me why he died, so I told him it was old age. I'll tell ya, nothing tugs at your heart strings more than when your li'l kid experiences the death of a pet for the first time, even if it was just a hamster. How do you explain that kind of thing to a 6 year old?

Garb
oh.....sad and cute....weird combo. Reminds me of a childhood story. I bought my brother a turtle for his birthday with money my Dad gave me. I was all excited - rode my bike to the pet store and bought it - bought a little turtle house and turtle food too. So, I give it to my brother. He loves it. I think he named it Timmy. Anyway, two days later - my brother is all panicked. I ask him what the problem is. He said his turtle is sick. I go upstairs - the turtle had been mutilated! It was writhing in pain as its bottom side was flapping away from his body. I look at my brother and asked him what the heck happened here? My brother says he wanted to see if the turtle had a pee-pee so he ripped its bottom off. We flushed the tiny, totured turtle down the toilet.
