SUorangefootball
4-12 Records speak for themselves, we have no depth and holes galore, lets not deceive ourselves into thinking this team is close to a patriots level squad. It has a lot of work to do, and we must start with this, at the expense of next years draft included, we MUST turn our two first day picks into 4 first day picks. Out of those 4 first day picks we need to come away with a WR, DE/OLB , RB/QB (depending on higher ratings and preferences) & CB/S (same higher ratings systems) and then spend the 2nd day rounding that out. The point is, regardless of how highly rated any one player at one position is, its not worth the risk of a bust on round 1 or 2's pick vs. trading down in both round 1 and 2 to acquire two additional draft picks to fill out this team. Your thoughts?

Your thoughts? If they want to instantly kill the talk about them building through free agency then yes they should acquire more picks. If they get more picks everyone will start talking about them supplementing the Free agents through the draft rather then looking desperate (complete b.s.) and trying to go for it all. The name of the game is win now, but you don't wanna sell your soul (3 years of terrible) to do it

The name of the game is win now, but you don't wanna sell your soul (3 years of terrible) to do it truth is everyone wants to trade down. if the jets can find a partner willing to trade up with them then great. otherwise i think they should seriously consider taking that monster DT Darren Mcfadden if he's still available at 6. jetfan718
i also think that we need some more picks...using some picks from next years draft could help...i think we need to find a way into the third round and i also think that we should use some of those late round picks and definetly pick up either DE-Kendall Langford or DE-Brian Johnston or both depending on whether or not we land Gholston in the 1st rd or a CB

Well.. Truth is everyone in the first four wants to trade up and out of the top 4 picks..thats common NFL knowledge. Too much guaranteed money for an unproven player. A bust could cost you your job.. 6th is a very good spot, less money and in this year's draft there are 6 or 7 guys that could go #1. Willing partners for trade downs..great leverage at the 6th pick. Parcells wants out of that #1 so bad he's rumored to want to let the time expire as to avoid the #1..problem is where ever he jumps on the agent for the Miami draft choice will demand #1 money..and rightfullly so. If he does that just to save money who's ever agent is still going to ask for number one money. There really needs to be a cap on incoming rookies. The money is getting out of hand. Guys we won't be able to trade down unless mcfadden is still there, or maybe Ryan if someone really covets him over the Ravens. If we can get two starters with the first two picks that equal in talent of Revis and Harris it will be a good draft.

Your thoughts? While your suggestion would be nice I don't think it's entirely necessary. The FO has already made some good moves this off-season (Faneca, Jenkins, Woody, Richardson, Franks) that solved some big problems for us. I'm always a fan of trading down if its possible but the only scenario I see it happening is with Run DMC dropping to us at #6 and Jerry Jones offering us a bunch of picks for him. It's certainly possible and I'd love to see it happen but that means the 5 teams before us pass up on McFadden.

With the excepetion of the raiders, I believe that the teams before us will not pick DMC. If he is there at six I believe there are a couple of teams that may be willing to deal, most n notably the cowboys>
