If Slapstick comedy was seriously considered by Academy

I assume you meant that every year they gave an award for a comedy. What better comedy came out that year?

the comedy would not have to win, but at least get a nomination.

Slapstick is probably a bad term

Stripes , Animal House and Caddyshack did not even get a sniff for a nomination

I thought you meant they would start a new category and one would have to win every year.

funny movie, but not oscar worthy, Juno would smash it.

i think Superbad is a very underrated movie, its very well written with a great story, its very quotable and a great replay value, well acted and well directed.

Juno maybe a little overated IMHO, the script seems to call to much attention to itself with its language and slightly outlandish characters.

Both were good, I thought Superbad was better though, but thats just me

hill seems pretty seems like a one dimensional actor, being stuck in the comedy genre, maybe I'm wrong, but not that it is a bad thing. better to be great in one genre than mediocre across all of them IMO

page, thirlby, and cera are far more versatile actors, able to pull off both comedy and drama very skillfully. All could have Oscars by the end of their careers ( I almost want to say Page is a shoein, but who knows) they are that good.
