BroadwayJ667
whether you care for his antics is not the point of this topic. Because the guy produces on the field. My question is do we have anything we could trade for him. Maybe a swap of firsts and a 2nd. A player? money compensation? Chad has stated he would like to play for the Jets, whether that was in jest, i don't know. All i do know is that he could be a solution to our offensive shortcomings. jetfan718
they could trade him after june 1st and avoid the 8million salary cap hit...anything's possible...i wouldn't mind seeing him in green & white...i think he could have the same offensive success as randy moss... McLovin
I doubt the Bengals trade him, unless it gets to the point where the can't afford both Chad and TJ... I mean, why would they trade him? Chad and TJ are one of the top two best WR randoms the nfl (Arizona being the other) If he was available for trade, I would LOVE to see him in green and white. He's one of the top WR's in the NFL and would be an amazing addition
McLovin
There's no chance they trade him, and I wouldn't really want him. Why not? He's one of the best receivers in the NFL. Is he full of himself? Yes. Huge ego? Yes. Outspoken? Yes. Amazing talent that would immediately improve this team? Hell F'in Yeah! I would take him in a New York minute. He punched one of his coaches in the face during the only playoff game the Bengals have had since 1991. I know what you're going to say "Mangini would never get caught by one of Chad's weak ass punches, he's been trained by Teddy Atlas" but I'd personally rather not risk it. They don't save any money by trading him later on. All that does is push a lot of the cap hit to 2009. There is no way for the Bengals to "erase" a dime of it. I seriously doubt, after the issues they've had with Kendall and Coles, that Tannenbaum would sign up who he KNOWS is going to have similar issues every year. Chad has stated he would like to play for the Jets, whether that was in jest, i don't know. All i do know is that he could be a solution to our offensive shortcomings. I don't ever remember hearing him say he wants to play for the Jets. He was on ESPN radio yesterday and was asked about the Jets. He kind of laughed it off and did not sound one bit interested. He said, "the Jets? they got Coles and Jemicho ... how do you say that ... yeah, Jericho Cotchery ... I can never pronounce that ... what would they want me for?" ... A couple of callers told him to come to the Jets. The only thing he said is that he wants to be with a team that year in year out has won games and made the playoffs. He said he doesn't want to be the Dan Marino of WR's and never win the big game. He wants to be with a team committed to winning and willing to make the big moves that have to be made to win. While I do believe in the Jets and think they are working towards being a winner, I don't think Chad is convinced of that yet. Anything is possible and I would take him BUT he was hinting that he is looking to be the top paid WR in the game and is very unhappy making $2.75 mill this year. With the spending that has been done here, it may not be possible.

Ghost
Just because a player is unhappy doesn't mean he won't play for that team. Chad Johnson already stated that he won't hold out nor would he not go to the mandatory mini camps. He might have a big mouth but the man plays his heart out on the field. He also has the right to complain to that filthy, disgusting, idiotic organization. They are not doing anything to get better. The man just wants to win, can you really blame him ? Coles has a big mouth and makes it seem like he is a problem but he is still the leader of our team and a great player... I think the media doesn't really have a clue what things are like in the locker room. Drama sells, saying "Johnson isn't completely happy but isn't ready to leave the team yet" isn't as exciting. johnny green balls
just like really hot chicks, great players usually have big egos but are paradoxically insecure and demand non-stop attention. would your solution be to stop hooking up with hot chicks? didn't think so. if you have a shot to get ocho at a reasonable price, you do it. plus, think of all the "CHAD-2-CHAD" headlines we'll be treated to in the Post next season. johnny green balls
You think he'll play QB too? man that's a joke that never gets old. since we're not going anywhere with chad at the helm why even bother upgrading any other position? in fact, why have mini camps or even practices during the season? it's futile-- we're not winning with chad. footballs teams aren't like tetris. you don't have to wait for the first piece to be locked in before focusing on the other. when opportunities to upgrade at acceptable prices come along, you take them. besides, if chad is so horrendous, he'll be replaced in a year or two tops but we'll still have ocho. Smizzy
You guys are funny. The worst thing about Chad Johnson is his mouth and you know what? He doesn't trash people ala Terell Owens...he isn't being arrested for drugs and he damn sure isn't the problem over there in Cincy. Considering how many different Bengals have been in trouble with the law and how bad the team had played ,I'm SHOCKED Marvin Lewis still has a job. Chad Johnson isn't overrated. He is an amazing football player with great skills. He goes over the middle, makes the tough catches and has no problem with contact. If low character *******s like TO and Randy Moss can change,so can Chad. The Bengals will never let their best player leave town. Then again...They still let M.Lewis have a job, anything is possible. He also punched his coach in the face at halftime of a ****ing playoff game. He is over-rated. He has an unbelievable game once a month, then doesn't do jack **** in the next three games. I'd still take him on the Jets, but he is not the dominating, lovable, goofy son of a bitch you are making him out to be. He's a Terrell Owens clone, without the suicide attempts and driveway situps. He has an 1 good game a month because the Bengals offense is inconsistant,so is Carson Palmer. Forget the fact he is drawing double teams away from TJ Housh , making him a glorified #2 WR. I'd love for him to go to KC so he can punch Herm in the face!

jetscott
not over rated? amazing football player? man, the standards today must be low. he had the same number of catches as cotchery. is he amazing? He doesn't stink, but amazing? T.j. WHO'SYOURMAMA is just as good. He's a big mouthed cry baby who needs coddled and is in love with himself. Wearing that jacket with HOF on it? come on. He'll never sniff the hall of fame. I don't hate the guy. But he is just good. Not great in any way. He would say different though. Even keyshawn tried to get him to mellow. How can you compare Chris Henry to Chad Johnson. Henry is a scrub thug who beats up women and does drugs. Chad Johnson is an elite receiver who granted has a big mouth but most of that is because he wants to play in a big city like New York where he'll get max exposure. Very good question. As much as I hate to say it probably the only "elite" player we've had in the past 15 years or so is Keyshawn Johnson. Even now I think the Jets are going to be a good team next year but I can't really name one potential superstar on the roster. Probably the closest thing we have is David Harris. I just love how Jets fans are actually looking for reasons not to trade for Chad Johnson. And almost none of them are even football-related.
