Sperm Edwards
Here's a few that started from day 1 as well: David Carr Tim Couch Akili Smith Vince Young (the most overhyped terrible QB I've seen) Byron Leftwich Kyle Boller Joey Harrington Patrick Ramsey Michael Vick Drew Brees (he sucked for almost 4 seasons, don't forget) Daunte Culpepper Ryan Leaf Charlie Batch Brian Griese Jim Druckenmiller Jake Plummer Tony Banks Bobby Hoying Kerry Collins Todd Collins Heath Shuler Trent Dilfer Rick Mirer David Klingler Dan McGwire Todd Marinovich All of the above QB's are first or 2nd rounders (maybe a couple 3rds) who pretty much got thrown right in in their rookie season since the 1991 draft. The guys in blue hardly saw the field as rookies (like 50 pass attempts or less and/or 0-1 games started). The guys in red started 5 games or fewer as rookies. Also: Shuler didn't leave the NFL because he sucked (though he clearly wasn't doing well); he left because his toe got injured & it never healed right. NO tried him out but was (eventually) obvious he couldn't throw right anymore because of it. Same with Tim Couch (shoulder). Rick Mirer I thought was offensive rookie of the year. I doubt that scarred him too badly. Charlie Batch really wasn't bad his first 2 years. His starting days with Detroit ended because of injury, not play.
