Decent slap hitters at best hit .260 not .315

And you're kidding yourself if you dont think mets and sox fans would vote for guillen to spite jeter

we're talking about the same morons who voted for scott podsednik over jeter........mets and red sox fans.

Alex Rodriguez was a better shortstop. Best shortstop BY FAR in baseball before being moved to 3rd base. Saying Jeter sucks because Arod was better than him holds no weight in your arguement at all.

EB:

Your arm angle is off and it is effecting your posts. We reviewed tapes from your younger posts and they were much better because of the arm angle.

Work on this.

Too funny Max...EB is cool , just young and loves his teams.

Having seen Tx's pic now I crack up every time I think of his wars with EB on JI.

Borderline child molestation.

EB, In April this year didn't you state Jete was better than Arod?

I might have said that at the time, perhaps.

Because at time time Arod had proven NOTHING in my eyes.

I had no faith in Arod in a big spot. But his series in fenway really convinced me he was officially a Yankee.

But push comes to shove........I'll take Jeter over Arod because Jeter has prove the will to win and has stood up when the sh*t hit the fan. His flip to Posada in the 2001 ALDS to get Jeremy Giambi at the plate will forever be in the back of my mind. Arod has shown he is alittle soft. The way he shows no willingness to barrell the catcher at home plate in a crucial spot really pisses me off like you wouldnt believe. Arod puts up better numbers offensively than Jeter, not even close really. But Jeter sacrifices himself and will let his stats take a hit if it means bunting a guy over in a 2-1 lead.

And I could never argue with anybody saying Jeter was/is better than Arod. I'd have no chance at winning that arguement

Good call, JonE. I was all set to go with Zippy the Bosux fan, but you've got a real point about Jetfan80. That guy's not even in the same time zone as reality.

Bob, we all know Zippy has some real emotional problems.....but you have really to question someone who idolizes him.

Suprised, actually shocked no one called him out earlier on this thread

I suspect that some people who claim to idolize Zippy the pinhead are, in reality, only intersted in building message board traffic.

Zippy is good for that, no doubt. Not good for anything else, mind you...

Definintely have to agree with JEJ and Bob on this one. 80 is pretty bad.

StormShadow - " He's a slap hitter, and not even a great one. He has adequate range. He's a primadonna. He's way overpaid. "

Ok I've heard most of the Jeter bashing before but please explain how he's a primadonna? Dude is the epitomy of a team player and gives full effort every day on every play.

That is an unfounded lie!=D>

JBF brings it strong every time out. He doesn't fire off these half-hearted "Yankees suck!" threads like some people do. He finds an angle, drives it home and stands behind it, even when it's wrong. BUT, he IS right 90% of the time. You guys are dredging up the Mariano-Lyon thing from three years ago to try and discredit him? FROM THREE YEARS AGO? The guy, as sarcastic and as cutting as he is, deserves credit for coming in here and defending the indefensible (Red Sox Nation) and pointing out, accurately I might add, the hypocrisy, the arrogance, and the incompetence of the Yankee organization. You Yankee honks should be ashamed at your own inability to admit to the grotesqueries of your beloved "team"-- how they have ruined the economic structure of the entire sport, how they continue to sell their souls to employ hired, steroid-laden mercenaries to sell jerseys, and how your 'star' shortstop is essentially Joey Cora with a little better eye at the plate, but half as good defensively. It's been five years since you purchased your last ring, Yankee fans. If people want to come and steal the hubcaps off of your ever-emptying bandwagon, they are definitely welcome to do that. And JBF happens to be a professional at it. JBF is a GENIUS because he is the guy who walks into the kitchen, turns the light on, and makes all you Yankee roaches run for cover. He is the whistle-blower. He is the unblinking eye. I applaud JBF for what he does, and I commend him. You fight the good fight, JBF. God bless the First Amendment, God Bless Yankee-hating, and God Bless you, JBF.

SS is one of those whiny haters. Don't confuse him with facts, Lag. They don't fit that cozy little world he has created for himself.

How am I a whiney hater, Bob? I'd love to hear that explanation.

Yup... Jeter gives his all every play... team player... I care almost. Almost!

I'm not a hater. The dude is vastly overrated by all Yankee Nation. The dude is from Michigan. Kalamazoo. So, it's not like I wouldn't give him the benifit of the doubt. But damn... with the way you Yankee fans go on about him, you'd think he was the second coming or something.

You guys talk about 80 and JBF as wild and crazy homers, but some of you should take a long look in the mirror. It's great to cheer for your team. It's wonderful. Don't think your team is the best on the planet. Your shortstop isn't top five in the AL, anymore. The Yankees reign is over, until their next batch of farm team kids are ready.

 I think you'll be surprised to know that there is an underground movement among the moderating staff here at JN to have my access priveleges removed from both the hockey and baseball forums. I have held my ground, citing racism, as to why they don't want me to be able to speak on two sports that have excluded the African American. "Stay in the basketball forum" they say. But I am the Rosa Parks of website administrators! I will NOT be thrown to the back of the bus! I WILL NOT MAXMAN!!!!

TS The Mets have the highest payroll in the NL. So by the logic of "the team that spends the most, wins" shouldn't the Mets be represting their league in the World Series every year?

Hey, how much better is Miguel Tejada than Derek Jeter, btw? Would you sayt it's a million times better or two million? Just asking.

First of all, you obviously care, or else you wouldn't have pointed it out. You couldn't help yourself. but, I've been thinking about it. He's not a primadonna... he's a pretty boy. He's the a-typcial Yankee. He's not loud or an a$$hole. He's not like anything the Yankees or their fans stand for. Yankee fans are the biggest pile of dung on the face of the earth. Bunch of biased misguided souls.

Defend your boy all you like Tom but any neutral observer (which we lack on this board) would have to walk away from any discussion in which a statement that riddiculous is made. I get the whole "I have nothing better to do with myself so let me sit in front of my computer and try to get a reaction out of people" (I guess) but when you make a statement like that it only becomes BETTER after three years. Only because at the time everybody knew (or at least some of us) that the guy had no right to be talking baseball. Now three years later we get to see the results of his "Mariano is on the way down" prediction. What JBF said would be about the equivalent of watching Brooks Bollinger lead a touchdown drive and me coming in on here the next day, with a straight face mind you...and saying that the majority of NFL teams would take Brooks Bollinger over Peyton Manning*.

*Yes, I am well aware of the fact that FredJetstone has probably already made a similar statement but look where it got him.

Bwa-hahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Ya know what makes this the best thread ever created on this board? The fact that the creator (smizzy) had it blow right up in his stupid face immediately. He intended this to be a "Lets kill JBF on page 1 and drag his carcass around for the several pages." Then, the overwhelming response has been "EB50" is the biggest retard homer! Ahahahhahahahahahahaha. Perfect. EB also gets my vote, he's undoubtedly the biggest homer on this board...and perhaps on the entire internet.

Say whatever you will about me...but nobody here can call me a "cluless homer." Thats a hollow charge on smizzy's part...and a hollow piling-on on the part of AirFarce, Jetlag and others...both common events here. Most of what everyone offers here is opinions. But when I deal with facts, I provide backing for my claims a plenty!

Now, TomShane clearly is the greatest man alive. His courage knows no bounds and his kindness is immeasurable. He truly is Moderator of the Year and potentially a successor to King George as our next president. I know he's got my vote!

Lastly, Dont ever sleep on Jetsfan80. Who the hell are JonEJinx (a JN.com disgrace) and Bob with the porn stache to call 80 out? 80 is one of the better posters on this board. He never makes outlandish pro-Mets or anti-Yankee statments without providing evidence to back himself up. Jinxboy, youre just pissed because he bests you every single time you bump heads.

You root for the Montreal Canadiens?

The Yankees are not the best team in all sports. They're not even the best team in the AL East. Don't kid yourself for a second. So, going by that, you are a misguided soul. You poor, poor, bastard.

Here is the rundown on just about everyone here.

1) JonE: Annointed by yours truely as " The Greatest Red Sox hater in the history of all those who have hated the Red Sox is the Yankee version of JBF. Earns monster homer points for sticking with (or is it sticking it to) Giambi when everyone including Yankee fans were running him out of town.

2) JBF: For every great hero their has to be an adversary and for JonE that is JBF. He is the David Koresh of the baseball forum along with Confederacy of Idiots love to make this board hell for the greatest fans in all of baseball. Now to call JBF a Red Sox homer is an out and out lie. He has maybe 2 posts about the Red Sox in this whole forum

A) his opening night tirade against David Wells

B) Congrats to Manny on his 400th hr

C) Curt Schilling ball washing.

I don't think this qualifies him as a Red Sox homer.

3) JF80: Has no expectaions for his team so that does not qualify him as a homer.

4) EB50: If there was a JetNation Connecticut school of Broadcasting scholarship he should get it. If Chris Russo is the Mad Dog then he is the angry puppy. Loving his team one minute, blasting them the next and he does back up his words. His sparring sessions with Garb could very well reach legendary status.

5) GJH: Disqualified for too many taking too many mulligans.

Tom Shane: May very well be the ulitmate homer. First he doesn't want Willie then when the Mets are good Willie is great, then the Mets go bad and he wants Herm fired. Believes that Reyes > Jeter. Huge homer points but not enough to overtake JonE.

What some people have to realize there are certain people that are out just to generate agitation and interest and comments- entirely different than from being a homer. there also needs to be a age limit on the homer top spot - maybe -under 16 and over 16 categories
