It was a well pitched game by Pelfrey, but everything fell apart in the 9th when Willie let Pelf start the 9th where he allowed a leadoff hit. Should Willie have pinch hit for Pelf in the bottom of the 8th? Should Willie have started Wagner to start the 9th? Should Willie have let Pelf pitch to another batter in the 9th?? A game where we could have felt great about the team... but our closer blows it. Oh well... we are now 1-1 in our quest to win 60 of last 100 games. Hopefully he's turned the corner and right now he's certainly pitching like a 1st rounder. he has pitched much better and Im glad we are having him grow up instead of giving up on him like most mets fans wanted to. Its too bad its in a season where we need him to pitch like an all-star. Now that I had time to sleep on it, a win is a win.
