NBC's sportscaster Charlie Jones RIP

SAN DIEGO -- Legendary American Football League announcer Charlie Jones passed away of a heart attack on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

He was 77.

In San Diego for the U.S. Open golf tournament, Jones was preparing to go to dinner with friends when he suffered the attack.

Covering two Super Bowls in his career, Jones announced AFL and NFL games for 38 seasons and broadcasted multiple Olympic telecasts.

In 1997, Jones wrote a New York Times bestselling book "What Makes Winners Win."
