John Clayton - What a Dick

The last place Brett Favre wanted to be was with the New York Jets, but that's where he finds himself today.

After flexing his muscles and testing the will of the Packers' organization, Favre agreed to a trade with the Jets after hoping to stay with Green Bay or go to the Vikings or Bucs. Throughout most of his career, Favre lived the life of a player who thought of going to Super Bowls. By going to the Jets, he can only think of wild-card playoffs.

Favre alone isn't going to cut the gap between the Jets and the New England Patriots. The Patriots have Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Bill Belichick, a great team and the easiest schedule in the league. Favre only has the satisfaction that he's out of Green Bay.

Given that reality, this trade is a thumbs down for the Hall of Fame quarterback.

Jets fans have to be excited because they no longer have to worry about Chad Pennington's weak arm or the inconsistencies of the developing Kellen Clemens. Favre brings to New York the potential of a 4,000-yard season as a passer who can hit better than 63 percent of his throws.

But if his heart wasn't into competing against Aaron Rodgers for the starting job in Green Bay, how is Favre going to be playing second fiddle to Brady in the AFC East? Mike McCarthy had it right Tuesday. He said Favre was in a tough place.

To come out of retirement and have only hopes of a wild-card berth has to be disappointing to Favre. True, he tested the will of the Packers' organization and lost. He thought he was big enough to get his release. He wasn't. He thought he could force a trade to the Vikings. He couldn't.

Tired and mentally exhausted from his Green Bay visit, he agreed to listen to going to Tampa Bay or the Jets. He preferred the Vikings. The Packers said no and traded him out of the conference.

The Packers beat down their icon. They've moved on to Rodgers. Favre only agreed to the trade because he knew it was time to get in camp and train for the regular season.

Going to the Jets is certainly a downer for him.

This was the same year he picked the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl.

Don't hate. Just be glad you don't look like that guy. :D

That's a good one. I like how he warns Saban that if he doesn't keep up the good work the Pats might catch up in year or two. What a maroon.

He gotta have the smallest penis in the entire world.

He didn't satisfy you?

Everyone basically who knows sports, you basically have to ignore John Clayton. You think John Clayton has played an inch of football in his lifetime? Hell no. Even when he played, he was the guy when you were picking teams, he was the last person picked. Girls probably got picked over him if there were any present.

I being serious here...Have you ever noticed with Clayton he spits on camera....and he always has this white crap in the corner of his mouth. I am actually not joking has any one else noticed this ? He hates the Jets any way....I have never heard him ever say anything positive about them.

he's a twerp IC...never a good word to say about the Jets-EVER...now he'll be forced to watch and talk about OUR team

I never put too much stock into what people say when they've never played the game. I don't think this twit has played the game at ANY level.

So what Garbie is saying is John Clayton is totally wrong and the Jets will win the division and make it to the super bowl!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Garbie!!!!

What I am saying is that ESPN sucks. You have a 50-50 chance of what they report to actually be true. Half the time they just throw stuff out there for effect. It's actually effective too.

However, please do follow ESPN like a religion going forward. They are currently showing Brett Favre's top ten moments - nevermind his top worst moments. Nope - Brett is Gawd. Follow - you must all follow.

You know. I have a good idea. Go ask a member of RSN how to act. :)
