Sj Reviews: 'Brideshead Revisited'..Atonement Lite

Based on the Novel/TV Series, this bigscreen English flick is basically a lesser quality version of Atonement.

If you liked Atonement, you will like this movie, and vice versa.

Its all English, a rich snobby people living entitled lives in 1930s England.

Its a interesting and finely paced movie that starts in the middle, goes back and moves forward at the end...

It basically about power, tradition and unrequited love.

Emma Thompson steals this movie like everyone movie she is in.

This is a the Grand Romance as the English can only do it. Its just that Atonement did it better. But its still a good effort.

The girls will enjoy, I guarantee.

'Brideshead Revisited' is one of my favorite books of all time. Et in Arcadio Ego, I know it practically by heart. It carries a great deal of personal resonance, minus the filthy rich part. And, no way the almost as brilliant Andrews/Irons/Gielgud et al TV adaption could possibly ever be matched, much less jammed successfully into feature film length. I'll wait for cable.
