He controls the center of the field on both the D-line and the Linebackers. Him being great at what he does allows the linebackers to scheme and disguise their linebacker rushing. He's getting the opportunity to get a lot of one on one battles given that the o-line will have to pay more attention to the linebackers to make sure that they don't rush up the gut. And with him plugging the middle with his strength he'll be able to get 2 guys on him which will begin to develop lanes for the linebackers to up up into the back field. Oh, and also, he's only like 28-29. We can get 4-5 very solid years out of him barring injury. Could you imagine how developed and dominating line backers like David Harris is going to turn into? Not only that, but when the Jets realize that they need to put Vernon Gholston back on the Defensive line where he's actually good at then you'll see this Jet defense getting to the top 5 defenses in this league....all starting with Kris Jenkins. To further at to the point of a great defense, just look at the Jet Giant game last week. The Jets recorded like 9sacks in this game from the 1st 2nd and 3rd string Defense. Whats does this tell you??? That Eric Mangini maybe is a damn Genius. He's able to record play after play with virtually any team on the field. That relates directly to a damn good defensive playbook. So imagine what a Great defensive book we have. This means that if we do have an injury come about with a player and easily fill that hole with a 2nd or 3rd string yet lose little or no defensive strength on the field as long as that player does his job. This is exactly how the Patriots did it during their run. Go back to when the Patriots won their first Championship, a lot of those defensive players weren't like "household" names. They were players that were just heard of for the first some some of them. Now its like their unstoppable. This defense is designed to make you a better defense as long as players played their role.
