timbok
I wanna hear everyones keys to victory. 1). The Jets need to run the ball successfully, the Chargers are without the HGH man, 2). Jets need not to piss the Chargers off, they are pissed as it is over their game last week which was blown by the referees. 3). DO NOT EVER SETTLE FOR A FIELD GOAL! OR EVER ATTEMPT ONE WITH JAY FEELY AS THE KICKER
Nnamath
Be aggressive on the first two or three drives. Throw the football on first down. Catch SD's dbs offguard and attack. If LT plays, have the linebackers and safetys swarm to him. Limit Rivers passing lanes by zoneing more than man to man. Get pressure on Rivers without overblitzing. score in the redzone. SD scores Tds not FGs.
FFan
- The CS should just let No. 4 "do his "Thang"", and then we can all sit back and watch "dem' Bomz" go into the Endzone ....
gang_green03
-Like always, they need to be able to stop the run. -They can't settle for field goals in the redzone. -They can't hurt themselves with turnovers. -They need to establish the run and improve the playcalling. Lol, of course you could pretty much cut and paste the same "keys to the game" every week. Basically if they control the line of scrimmage and win the turnover battle they'll be in very good shape. Ccssrs69
control the clock as much as possible, leave there d on the field with long drives. give the ball to TJones at least once in the three downs. use play action and burn their dbs our front three on d need to pressure qb, linebacks need to keep running game in check, our db continue to do what they have been doing. Jetscode1
Let Favre be Favre. We need to open up the playbook and air it out. Some may argue that we need to play it close to the vest with a strong running game but their pass defense has been atrocious (#31 in the NFL). They lost their best pass rusher in Merriman. We need to stop thinking we have Chad playing QB and let this offense take some chances. Throw some deep balls early, mix in some slants on first down, throw to Baker and Keller, and throw a few to Coles and have him get used to the fastballs. Just throw the damm football. The JETS need to work through some of the early mistakes and get this offense in sync. We need to find out early (in this season) how good an offense we can be. Win the special teams battle. No news flash here but our kicking and punting have sucked. We cannot give short field to an explosive offensive team like the Chargers. Darren Sproles returned one kickoff for a TD. He may be small for an everyday RB but he makes a lot of plays on special teams. On the flip side we have yet to see Leon do his magic on special teams this year. It would help if he can make a play or two to give the offense some easy scoring chances. Slow down their passing game. The Chargers passing offense is #4 in the NFL while our pass defense is just middle of the pack. I like our matchups on the outside…Revis vs. Chambers and Lowery vs. Jackson but our LBs and Safeties have not done a good job covering the TEs and RBs. Gates should see 6-10 balls thrown his way. If we can improve this area and at least make the Chargers move the chains consistently we keep them below 30 points.
Ghost
The most important thing for the Jets is to pass the ball, spread the field and then we'll hand it off to Thomas Jones. On the defensive side, apply pressure on Rivers. That simple.

BwanaZulia
I agree with most above. The keys to the game: Brett Plays: Throw out the conservative crap. Our kicking/punting game is for doodoo so you might as well start throwing the ball. That will ease up on the run D and we might be able to break a big play or two. Cry me a River: Get to him. Make him eat dirt early. Every QB in the league gets a little gunshy after a hit or two he is no exception. If we can get him to make a few mistakes, pick up a few turnovers, this game is ours. Stop The Rock: LT is the man, but we have the plan. Jenkins has to dominate up the middle, shutting down the running lanes and have Pace/Harris swarming to LT. He will pick up the yards, but lets shut down the big plays and TDs. BZ

De-Jet-Erate/Duane
I agree with let Brett play his game, stop LT, and everything else posted above but I think they need to stop with the mental mistakes and penalties. It kills momentum and deflates the drive.
