Barton
Eric Smith: Good - Solid at defending the deep ball. Bad - Terrible at everything else. Shouldn't be starting. A non factor. Abram Elam: Good - Aggressive, not afraid of anybody, hits people hard, better tackler than Smith. Very solid vs the run and a good blitzer. Bad - Not great at covering the deep ball. Will make a stupid play. Who would you start, Elam or Smith? And lets assume David Barrett is not an option because we haven't even seen him since he got toasted vs San Diego. #27TheDominator
I like Elam better. I don't think he's too bad and he hits. Watching the Giants game kind of makes you wish they'd picked Kenny Philips instead of Keller. I kind of thought they was what they were going to do when they traded up. MagicBizkit87
Although, by shock Eric Smith didn't suck that badly today, and actually played halfway decent for him, I still have to go with Elam.

Eric Smith is a dead ringer for NY Gov David Patterson. I am sure that will come in handy some day.
Green DNA
Once again Smith got yanked right before halftime. He took the wrong angle on a pass play in the first half, allowing the receiver to blow right past him and race up the sideline, then he effed up the tackle on the big run right before the half. This imbecile is the last line of defense???? He should only see the field on special teams or if the Jet are in an 8 DB package. He is putrid and must have pictures of Mangini in some gay compromising position (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Green DNA
I missed this before starting my thread. I can't divulge how I voted in order to protect the integrity of the democratic process, however in short, Eric Smith is a steaming pile of dog crap. Maxman
When you say there is nothing wrong with that are you talking about taking the pictures or the act itself? Anyhow Smith isn't good. Honestly though they don't really have many other options. Elam -- I like him a lot. He is better suited to helping the run though. And he is a personal foul time bomb. Barrett? He they were impressed with his coverage, he would be playing CB more. So really I think this is the kind of question that has many possible wrong answers.
