Resizing Pictures

Anyone here know how to resize a group of pictures all in one shot? What tool do you use? I know Tabor has done it.

I have a ton of pictures from the game yesterday. I need to resize them though and don't feel like editing them individually.

Please let me know if anyone can suggest a good tool\program to do this.

Thanks!

Really? You mind telling us how?

Thanks

the first few times you do this, dupe the folder with the images and work on the backup - if you make the wrong choice here or there, you may overwrite the images)

under "window" open the "actions" palettre. then on the actions palette, click the arrow for the pulldown to "record new action". then go resize the image. click "stop" to stop recording when you're done. then under the "file" menu, choose "automate" then "batch", and you can choose the action (whatever you named the one you just recorded), the source folder, and the destination folder, along with saving andf other options.

Thanks guys. I am going to try the utility that GOB just pointed me to.

If if blows up my PC and I am not around for a few weeks watch the Detroit news for any missing person reports.

I use MS Digital Image Pro. It's easy to batch-edit and resize. But go with GOB's recommendation.

Dude - you've got a freakin' Linux machine at your disposal here. You can use "ImageMagick" and a script to resize your photos in bulk really simply. I can put a script on the server for you if you want.

Whatever Linux boy.

I am just going to stick with my right click, resize all method! :-P

It is easier this way, so that I am ftp'ing the smaller versions. My time is very valuable, lol.

Man, and I though you had potential. Just so you know, it was one line to convert a whole directory of images by 50%:

for k in $(ls *.jpg); do convert -resize 50% -quality 80 $k $k-resized; done

Right clicker. ;)
