As much as everyone loves to rip Favre, Gholston, Lowery and Mangini why not give the offensive line some grief? It is not like Favre has all day to throw the ball. That is a pretty high priced offensive line that many times seems to be underachieving. Gholston and Lowery are in year one, D Brick does not have the same excuse.

How about the pass defense as well. We made Thigpen look like an All Pro last weekend. They better step up this Sunday or Edwards will have a field day and a long day for us fans.

D'Brickashaw blows! There is no excuse since he has a veteran beside him. The JETS need to fire their scouts and hire ones that can actually evaluate talent! :)

Im going to have to agree with Bronzey on the scout issue.Have you guys taken a good look at the NYGIANTS WR corps............WOW just WOW.

Deep doesnt even begin to describe how they are on Wide Recievers. The Giants can pick great recievers in their sleep.

Spoken like a true Giants fan !

I dont think he has to be a GIANTS fan to admire the talent the G-Men have. I too admire the Giants and how talented their position players are.

Watching the Giants play and watching the JETS play is like watching day and Night.

Are you suggesting that only the Jets had brick rated in the top 5 and no one else did? he was a top five pick by virtually every scout that watched him.

D'Brick is a hundred times better this year than last. Overall, I think the line is playing OK, but not up to expectations (4 first rounders - lots of money). They all just take turns in making bad mistakes at the worst times. Ironically, Moore might be the most consistent of them all so far.

I think Brick has been very good this year. He's been very good in pass protection, although he struggled at times in the Raiders game and his run blocking is MUCH improved.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't have the best eye to evaluate OL play, but the qb pressure seems to me to be coming from the right side fairly more often than D'Brick's.

Woody has been poor in pass protection the last two games. He was pretty solid in the first five games.

I agree with the original post that the line deserves some blame too. They have been somewhat inconsistant. They haven't been bad though, just not great like we expected.

And where is this notion that D'Brick is playing terribly coming from? If you want some stats he's only allowed 1.5 sacks and had 1 penalty in 7 games. That sounds pretty good to me and those are better numbers than may big name LTs. Aside from that just based on watching games he looks much improved in run blocking, although still probably only average, and looks good in pass protection. He's not completely dominating but he's playing very well. Are people who say he sucks really paying attention to him or am I missing something?

Brick has been very good so far, no question.

Very good post.

I agree, I seriously think people just blame the guy for the sake of it.

The line is being forced to protect when the defense knows it is a pass. If Favre would lineup under center...the defense will have to "slow down" to defend the run too.

He lines up under center whenever they run the ball. Jeez, what do you want? ;)

You're right. What I meant tho was line up under center the majority of the time so they run AND pass from the formation.... as opposed to everone in the stadium knowing what's coming.

I think it's funny that Moore just might be our best linemen this year.

I don't know if he's been better than Mangold, but I do agree. Haven't seen him make too many mistakes this season. Of course, im not watching the tape and evaluating the play of each OL, not to mention the RG is generally speaking the position on the OL that has the least responsibilities (easiest to play). I still think all of our offseason moves, bringing in so many new starters, has backfired a little in the chemistry dept. Hopefully they can start gelling soon so we can make a run at the playoffs.

We could run draws or reverses from the shotgun. I mean we have that stupid man in motion running right in front of Favre all the time in the shotgun so he can't snap it until the player runs past him, might as well time it so that guy can take a handoff or something. Or if you're feeling really risky, direct snap to him.

Or we could just stop running that stupid motion play, and try snapping the ball quicker instead of having our players set for 10-15 seconds each time. I did notice we finally stopped running motion right in front of favre on shotgun plays at least, now the player will run backwards instead which I'm not even sure is legal. I should pay more attention to which player it is rather than just thinking of how stupid it is while I try to read the defense.

Good luck. I find it very difficult to ignore the stupidity. Every time they line up in the shotgun I want to break something.
