Why are you offended. Are you married, did your significant other leave you for a flight crew member. If you are a season ticket holder and you dont like the show dont go plain and simple. You do have a CHOICE.

Being a Jets beat writer I suspect it's part of her job to go there.

Maybe she's working on a sexual harassment suit

Dear Jane,

We like the Flight Crew. They are there for us even when the Jets lose (which happens from time to time). Unless you are going to make us feel better after a loss then please knock it off.

Signed,

The World

Favre didn't open his mouth so it was a slow news day. She had to write about something.

She should have done the honorable thing like the other reporters and just read Deanna Favre's blog for juicy information.

(I think I spelled her name right but if not you get the joke anyway). :)

Delayed Arrival

I’ve been silent. As the lone chick on the Jets beat, in my first year, I didn’t want to make a big deal about it. But I’m a loudmouth, so here goes.

Not a fan of the Flight Crew concept.

I don’t like the banner-waving, lady lump-shaking gals in their designer uniforms, which seem to evoke what men’s wear would look like if it was mostly white underwear bursting out of it.

I may be cynical, but the Jets are coming off a huge problem at Gate D, where boozy men respectfully requested that young women lift up their tops. Maybe it wasn’t so polite. Whatever, the story didn’t make the franchise look great.

As a matter of fact, the Jets made a big deal of announcing they had added security to Gate D and that any fan could text security if there was a problem there. The NFL cracked down on revelry as well, changing the rules about revoking tickets for bad behavior and reducing the hours for tailgating.

So this year, the Jets close down Gate D to the Mardi Gras parade — but hey look at that! Nobody has to get out of their seats to see what looks like women with bras popping out of their cutoff vests! And white ruffles under their abbreviated hotpants! It’s right there on the massive jumbotron. What a relief!

Clearly, the Jets noted a need and addressed it. Except that even the people who wouldn’t have sidled over to Gate D during halftime are now subjected to it, too.

It’s not l that I don’t appreciate suggestive grinding, etc. but what I do in my own home is my business! (That’s a joke there, to show I’m not a prude.) But it’s all about the context. I’m sure there are plenty of ticketholders who really, really enjoy the crew. There are even some of my colleagues who get a little glassy-eyed when they walk by. OK, one colleague, but hey, we’re all human.

Although another colleague pointed out that only two of the women on the crew are African-American.

If people buy tickets to the Jets, they are getting them for a football game, and not some gourmet dining, fireworks, entertainment extravaganza.

As long as I can see the scoreboard, the game and the instant replay, that’s exactly what I’m looking for.

Then I can go home and watch MTV.

Dear Jane,

We all know that you're most likely fat and couldn't get laid if there was a fifth of Jack sitting on your bent over back during Fleet Week in NYC.

Also, 12.7% of the U.S. Population is black. 2 of the 22 Flight Crew Members are black.

2 divided by 22 = 9%..... 12.7 - 9 = %3.7

At 3.7%, the deficiency of blacks on the Flight Crew to the black population isn't exactly enough to sound the "Racial Alarm".

Go get a real job.

Signed,

The world

GOB pretty much summed it up.

But to add to it, is she now going to go cover another NFL team? I guess it won't be the Rams, Cowboys, Chiefs, Buccs, Patriots....actually this is going to take too long. Which NFL team doesn't have cheerleaders and I guess that's her option. Maybe the Giants?

what the hell is with the african american statement in there out of nowhere? Stupid broad.

She sounds like a lesbian who hates men. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Jets don't have cheerleaders. Jane must hate every other team in the NFL as well.

Go **** yourself and write about something thats important, like how at the tryouts there weren't more than a handfulf of African Americans if you took some time to look at the pictures from the tryouts.

Signed,

This country is becomming so "politically correct" - it's suffocating. (and it's 'gonna get worse after next Tuesday).

Cheerleaders (flight crew are basically cheerleaders, correct?) is a long-standing, traditional part of football. Besides those hidelous diaper looking bottoms the flight crew wears, it's part of the entertainment - big deal! It's not as if these women are pole dancing at the 50 yard line at half-time! To draw a parallel between them and the shenanigans at Gate D is absurd. And then, to bring race into the argument? Just more reason to hate the media....honestly, I'm fed up with agenda-laden crap they consistently spew. And to make matters worse - this article brings the writer the the attention she was seeking in the first place. Say something controversial and watch the hits keep comin'......that's JN's motto, right? ;)

Covering an NFL team and whining about sexy cheerleaders is like going to the beach and complaining about sand, sea water and sunshine. This could be the dumbest thing I have ever read. My brain is bginning to drip out my ear from the sheer and total imbecility.

Crazy idea, Ms. African-American female football beat writer-if it's so awful, quit.

First of all the Gate D Mardi Gras Parade was a time honored tradition since the 1980's that should have been allowed to continue until the new place opens in 2010. The women show their Ta Ta's because they choose to. I always enjoyed seeing the boobies!!!!

Second, a large majority of NFL teams have cheerleaders who wear much less than the Flight crew.

WTF Beotch???????
