InstantClassic
Was reported on FOX pregame. LT said he normally doesn't help players, or hasnt since he retired but flew out to meet with Gholston, spent some time with him and will continue to tutor him and help him as much as possible, as well as work out with him in the offseason. Pretty cool.

Bergen Jet
Great news. The coke enduced rage will either lead to massive QB pressures or a ban by the league. Either way the Jets win.

That is a potw nom, lol. Maybe Gholston will open up a Jet fan friendly strip club on route 3. That would make the loss of tailgating easier to deal with in the new stadium. Harry85
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8748640/Glazer:-Gholston-looks-to-LT-for-help?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=5 Looks like gholston is really trying hard and looking to find ways to get better. I think this is a great first step to get tutoring from one of the best ever at his position. Interested to see how this works out with good ol Lawrence Taylor. I find it very encouraging. Seems LT really like VG and sees great potential in him and really wants to help him get better.
Jbro22
I hear LT told him his biggest problem was being a 1st round draft pick for the Jets.

jetfan718
sounds like gr8 news to me...if LT usually doesn't help players, but made an exception for VG, then he must see some potential in him...
F.Chowds
Struggling Jets first-round pick Vernon Gholston has to glean advice about pass rushing in the 3-4 defense. The invisible rookie has seven tackles (he got one Sunday) and no sacks through eight games. "He's a good kid and he wants to bust his butt and really understand this defense," said Taylor, the greatest 3-4 rush linebacker of all time. Gholston's biggest problem may be that he has two good players ahead of him on the depth chart; Calvin Pace and Bryan Thomas. gangreenman
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8748640/ WOW, very interesting to see indeed. Hopefully LT can really help him out with some of his blitzing techniques. And I absolutely loved this line: ..." at one point Gholston asked Taylor how long it really took him to truly understand the nuances and techniques of a 3-4 defense in his rookie year. In classic LT fashion, he responded 'about two or three hours.' " :rl:
