lancemehl
ONE losing season in almost 20 years on some awful packer teams ONE LOSING SEASON only player with 300 int's(many of them pick sixes) still one losing season. we witnessed it two weeks straight, he throws a pick six then, like the hof'er he is, leads a heart slashing drive to win the game. we have greatness on our team, folks. and leon, coles, cotch and ,yes, i admit, even TJ has looked awesome, gobble up the bums he went 13-3 with GB last year. not to mention our top tier defense. those of us who missed namath, enjoy this, my friends, a great QB. Bugg
All those winning seasons, and yet he is actually hurting this ciurrent jets team. Hurting? That Cardinals win is a game that Pennington loses in a heap, and probably yesterday too. Seems like the CS is FINALLY getting a sense of what Favre can do, and what are his limitations. The threat of a long passing game opens up the run and undeerneath passing stuff. You know when you bring Favre in INTs are part of the deal. Deal with it, move on, don't dwell on it. If the Jets are to have any chance at the postseason and success therein, Favre is probably going to have to bail them out like he did in the Cards game a few more times. And again, these are things that for all his brainiac mind, Pennington physically can only do in his dreams.

Irish Jet
Please. If you think Favre is the main reason we're 5-3 right now you're insane. The main reason was a great pickup though, his name is Kris Jenkins.

The main reason was a great pickup though, his name is Kris Jenkins. Jenkins has been a great FA signing. No dispute, heck the best FA signing the Jets have made that I can recall. But Favre has at least opened up the first 5-8 yards past the LOS with the threat of a serious downfield passing game. It's a major improvement. Unless you like 3rd and 8 passes that go for 6 yards. Unless you're referring to the 2 kneel downs to end the game I'm going to give the majority of the credit to our RB's and offensive line for that game winning drive, a drive that was only necessary because of the pick
GreenReaper
Favre gives the Jets a chance to come back in the 4th Q and get us a Win. Brett is fearless and without a conscience. Like Joe Willie, he can throw several INTs in a game; but he will not crawl up into a ball and suck his thumb. Favre will maintain his aggressive play and has the qualities you expect in a great player. He'll perform at a higher level in crunch time. 40+ 4th Q comebacks is something that no Jets QB has ever had on his resume. An oppossing defense has to fear and respect Brett...and so do I:character0282:

124
You can also add Miami Buff and NE maybe, at least 2 out of those 3 New England only lost to Miami because of the Wildcat, not because of Chad Pennington. With Chad we don't lose 19-10, no, we lose about 27-10. Buffalo? No way we go up there and beat Buffalo with Chad. Miami? We saw what Chad did in the end. Interception baby! 3-5 with Chad, 5-3 with Brett. Wasn't for moronic coaching, 7-1 with Brett.
StillerPaul
I said it before and i'll say it again. I'll take the agressive minded big play oriented QB over the safe dink and dunker any day of the week and twice on sundays. You'll very rarely catch me complaining about a Big Ben INT just for that reason. Those kind of QB's are the ones ya need to win the big ones IMO. You guys should be happy ya got a guy like Favre IMO. Above all else you know damn well he's not afraid to make the big play. You'll see how valuable that attitude is come playoff time. The Bills would never have given CP all that underneath stuff that we completed yesterday. That was all courtesy of Favre. I am no swami, but CP loses yesterday if he is the Jet QB. They would have jammed up the receivers and jammed up the running game with "The Arm?" in there. And CP threw a pick 6 there last year, that was just as ugly as Favre's and more harmful. Not going to be negative on what was a great all around game by the Jets yesterday, but you really can't give much credit to Favre for this one. One the drive, it was mostly the OL. 14 plays, 65 yards, 8:41. Of all that drive, 5 passes were thrown for a total of 17 yards. it was a great clutch power running drive. All credit goes to OL. Not going to go into the pick 6 on the drive before that.

4HCrew
Teams have to game plan around the potential of big plays with Favre at qb..the same cannot be said for Chad.
ZachEY
Can we please put a moratorium (on both sides of the fence) on the 'With Chad we would be __ and __' argument. It's complete speculation, utterly unprovable, and total nonsense.
gang_green03
Favre is not the biggest reason we've been successful so far. He's a part of it but he's both hurt and helped us. The biggest reason for our success is Jenkins and I don't see how that's even debatable.
Jetsfan80
Thing is, Favre is only going to get BETTER in the 2nd half of the season, not worse. That's a dangerous thought for opposing teams, especially when they've seen how good we have looked in other aspects of the game. If we can put all the pieces together, we're a super bowl contender. Period.
JiFtheOracle
Did anyone catch NFL Networks pregame where they were calling him the Double Agent because he keeps teams in game just to put them away in the end. LOL. There is no doubt he makes it interesting, all I know is instead CPF, I am watching Brett Favre. As the game began yesterday, I remember saying to the crew, its still strange to see him in NY Jets jersey.
