My mom passed away yesterday . So glad I took a week off in may to visit with her when she got real sick. She recovered just fine but became ill again recently.

She was an amazing woman. don't grieve for me cause in my heart I know she's in a better place and is now side by side with my little brother.

tomorrow will be the 1st time all of us 8 remaining brothers & sisters will be together in a long time. We're a pretty jovial upbeat bunch for the most part and I'm looking forward to the gathering to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable person.

great folks on this board so i'll thank you in advance for your prayers & thoughts.

I am so sorry JW for your loss!!

You have the right idea though, celebrate her life!!!

I went to a funeral for a family friend on saturday and after lisetening to the priest it clicked in my head. It does not matter what you drive, the size of your house, what clothes you wear, ect. What matters in the end was how many people's hearts you touched while you were here. I am sure with all those children she has touched many hearts along the way and will be remembered as a great woman!!! May she and your family be at peace with her passing!

The Dash

copyright 1996 Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak

at the funeral of a friend.

He referred to the dates on her tombstone

from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth

and spoke of the following date with tears,

but he said what mattered most of all

was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time

that she spent alive on earth...

and now only those who loved her

know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;

the cars....the house...the cash.

What matters is how we live and love

and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard...

are there things you'd like to change?

For you never know how much time is left

that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough

to consider what's true and real,

and always try to understand

the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,

and show appreciation more

and love the people in our lives

like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,

and more often wear a smile...

remembering that this special dash

might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read

with your life's actions to rehash...

would you be proud of the things they

say about how you spend your dash?

Dude I know the pain your going through, it's indescribable. Luckily for me, I still got my mom. My Father passed away this July and it was the worst thing that can possibly happen to me, my life totally changed since. I know the pain man but your strong, she's in a much better place.

Let me know if you need anything man, I'm here.
