Kentucky Jet
WHAT'S UP: AFC SCHEDULE MAKES DOLPHINS A THREAT TO JETS IN AFC RACE By JUSTIN TERRANOVA Posted: 2:04 pm November 4, 2008 The Patriots and Bills had their chances to bury the JetsNew York Jets and Dolphins by the midway point of the season, but that time has passed and all signs point to an intense four-team race in the AFC East in the season's second half. WHAT'S UP: AFC (PHOTOS) Thanks to a Jets (5-3) win over the Bills (5-3), a Dolphins (4-4) victory in Denver, and the Patriots' (5-3) Sunday-night loss to the Colts, the four teams in the division are separated by one game. "One of the goals we set for ourselves coming in here, you can either come into games to compete - or you can come into games to win," Miami's first-year coach Tony Sparano said. "I think there's a difference between both. Neither one is bad. But we come into games to win." And the Dolphins' schedule suggests they could be doing a lot of winning and will be around for the long haul. It brings the possibility of a tremendous Week 17 showdown in the Meadowlands between Brett Favre and Chad PenningtonChad Pennington . The Dolphins play host to the Seahawks on Sunday followed by the Raiders, Patriots, at the Rams, at the Bills, 49ers, at the Chiefs and at the Jets. We will know a lot more about the division in 10 days after the Patriots play host to the Bills (Sunday) and the Jets (Thursday). Then there's always the tangled wild-card story in the conference. Things got sorted out a bit, but three teams are more than two games out of the final spot - Raiders, Bengals and Chiefs. After the four division winners (East - Patriots, North - Steelers, South - Titans, West - Broncos) the Ravens, Jets and Bills are tied at 5-3 for the final two positions. IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY (seed in parentheses): Wild-Card Round: Jets (6) at Patriots (3) Ravens (5) at Broncos (4) Divisional Byes: Titans (1); Steelers (2)
serphnx
I have said a few weeks ago, I fully expect the Bills to finish last in the division and the Fins to finish ahead of them. I am not sure where exactly the Fins end up, but 3 teams coming out of the AFCE would not surprise me at all, and the Fins being one of those teams is even rather expected. If the Pats win the division it'd be even funnier because chances are they'd play the Fins, and the Fins would absolutely crush them too.

faba
The schedule sets up nicely for Miami-I said at the beginning of the season parcells will start to turn that franchise around.

The Tuna always does where ever he goes. Except for Dallas who I felt underachieved with Parcells there.

Jetkid94
Chad will not beat this DEFENSE no way no how. he is the king of dink and dunk, and we have the best pass defense to do that on. but at least brown shouldnt run all over us.
Kentucky Jet
he is the king of dink and dunk, and we have the best pass defense to do that on. but at least brown shouldnt run all over us. But Chad usually tires out as the season progresses. Then if it is very cold and windy, the Jets will have a decided advantage!

Aqua4ever04
The schedule is nice, but forget that, the Dolphins playing good football makes them a threat. We control the clock as well as any team in the league, we haven't even sniffed our full potential running the ball, our defense has been great the last two weeks and we have a no stars policy on offense. It's not like we've been rolling up crappy opponents; we won @ New England, @ Denver and at home to Buffalo and San Diego. Here are the combine records of victories for the teams in the AFC East: Dolphins: 17-15 Jets: 16-25 Bills: 12-28 Patriots: 14-

124
Where were these Dolphins fans last year? Or the year before or the years before that? Go Chad! They're only here after W's, but some of them are good people (HardcoreXXX, like2god and FinFanInCali). As for the others? I'll believe Miami is a real threat when I see it. Detroit could beat Denver at this point. I'm raising my 6-10 prediction to 8-8, maybe 9-7, but it will never go higher than that. Games against SEA & OAK the next two weeks, in Miami, show me nothing. Lets see what they do against Buffalo, New England, the Jets and road trips to St.Louis and Kansas City. Yes, Kansas City. They have played well the past 2 weeks and probably would've won if it weren't for Coach Dumb****.
Green DNA
The Dolphins will stumble and lose one or two of the "easy" games, take it to the bank. Then there is the annual Dolphin December swoon, that's always fun to watch.
ToonTime
Although the Dol-phags do have a "weak" schedule for the remainder of the season, we need not worry about them till week 17. What WE do need to worry about is the JETS, and losing more of the so-called win-able games we tend to lose. I still cannot get over the damn Oakland game, what a waste, like we need to make it harder on ourselves. We have a pretty good schedule as well, and we are Supposed to be better than they are, so I would love to send the Dol-phags home for the playoffs in week 17. I also cannot wait till the big Tuna gets this team near the top then leaves them flat like he does every other damn team. They are riding a nice little wave here but they did lose to Houston a couple of weeks ago, lets not forget. Lets go Defense....
