Why are American sports crowds so quiet?

Because they have one sport throughout all those nations. A lot of American sports fans are fans of multiple teams, they take out their frustration and include their joy into a number of teams. Plus, I've watched those said games before ecurb and its more idiots than it is anything else. I've heard much louder sporting events in the NFL and NCAA.

NCAA maybe close but thats with band and whatnot... lol

This crowd is REALLY loud... constantly chanting... EVERYONE is into it and wearing the team colors...

Seems like there is just an abundance of people at American Football games that just dont want to be there...

Alcohol and extensive tailgating leads to fans being tired for the actual game.

I was going to say just the opposite. The euro's drink too much and act liking screaming lunatics. But I like your's better. Honestly, most Americans are pretty loud in general so maybe they don't have to be as loud at games.

I went to a premier league game a year or so ago, and the crowd was crazy, it was euphoria. The hooligans there are far worst than any we have here though. But I always wished a JETS game could sounds like a Manchester United game.

There is a soccer game on ESPN 2 right now... the crowd noise BLOWS away any American Football game... when they get loud it is mind numbing...

I wish we could get the Meadowlands rocking like that...

They also kill and riot with each other if their team doesnt win...Do you want that too??

Yankee Stadium loud is nowhere near what soccer crowds are like.

American fans need a scoreboard to tell them when to cheer.

American fans need a cheerleader to do the team chant.

Mets fans shouldnt need the sound guy to start the Jose! Jose! Jose! Jose! chant.

American fans react to the game. They don't sound off non stop for hours on end like a bunch of idiots. If you want loud constant noise, then play the sounds of cheers endlessly over the damn speakers. Plus, there are times during a game when the players need

to verbally communicate. You know, calling a play or making an audible when they're

on the line. Change your name to "Lil bit Stupid"

You don't think the defense would play better with a louder crowd supporting it?

How about before and during the kickoff? How about not leaving at halftime?

In Green Bay things like that weren't really a problem. People rarely left early and

the stadium was always full. I've been disappointed with the home Jets games though

because even at kick-off the stadium has a lot of empty seats. I hate that because

this year the team has a shot and people just aren't filling the place up. The crown

really needs to get behind them at all their home games and left em up....give em

a little motivation. That would be good. Maybe it's just a NYJ thing? The crowd is

too mild for this good Jets team.

Wow somebody has his panties in a bunch tonight.

Did I strike a nerve with you or something? Why the personal attack? Why the anger?

We shouldnt need speakers to signal the crowd to cheer or chant. You dont like the incessant noise? Fine. Whatever. I dont believe I said we should. I said we shouldnt need a loudspeaker or a graphic to make us cheer.

In football, you are loud on defense, quiet on offense. Our fans do the exact opposite. Jets fans dont know when to cheer unless Ed or the loudspeaker tells them.

Jets fans suck. Its that simple. They are there to watch a game, to be entertained. They dont view themselves as being part of the experience.

Yeah but I'm not crying about it like you saying they suck. I watch the game on

TV and that's it.

Jets fans do suck. I've been going to games for 15 years. I sit next to the same people season after season. They dont cheer. They are pessimists. They sell their tickets. They leave early. What makes them good fans?

I wasnt crying about it. Just pointing it out. I wish our fans were smart enough to know to cheer on defense and quiet on offense. But they dont.
