NY JETS 29
St. Louis Rams (2-6) at New York Jets (5-3) In no city, and with no fan base, does a single game lead to a feeling in the following days of either euphoria or disaster the way it does with Don Maynard's old team. Speaking of Maynard, he told me something Wednesday on Sirius NFL Radio that I shan't soon forget. He said he's been a plumber in Texas in his first four offseasons because he could make $8,500. "I learned two things,'' Maynard said. "Them pipes don't bend. And manure don't go uphill.'' Prediction: New York Jets 16, St. Louis Rams 14 I just see this game being a lot different, I see us really turning the corner here and winning this game by atleast a TD. Thoughts on King? 4HCrew
well lets be honest..Jets fans were disgusted with team going into Buffalo and now are talking playoffs after... if the Jets would have lost in Buffalo how many fire mangini threads would have been started next to the Favre is washed up ones? He means in no OTHER city, or no OTHER fan base does a SINGLE GAME lead to euphoria or disaster as it does with Jets fans. He's spot on, and I don't know who the hell would try to argue differently. I will argue differently. Look at this year for example, after we beat the Chiefs, I didn't see any "Mangini is god" praise, or "Brett Favre is a pro bowler" praise. I saw a bunch of fans concerned that due to mediocre coaching strategy, and below average play from the QB, that we almost, and probably should have, lost to one of the worst teams in the NFL. Sure, when your QB throws for 6TD in a single game, there will be a lot of euphoria to go around that week, no matter what fanbase. In general, fans are what they are, fans. They watch or attend games every week, they root for their team, and they want them to do well. Therefore, they are going to be upset when they are losing and happy when they are winning. Thats just what fans do. No matter what team they're rooting for.

Irish Jet
Anyone read his MMQB article where he just wouldn't shut about his love for the Pats? AFTER a loss to Indy? Said they were one of the main 'winners of the week' yet had absolutely nothing good to say about the Jets win over Buffalo, in fact the only play he pointed out was the defensive TD we gave up. Shuddup and enjoy this "run." I hope it ends Sunday. A little difference between Moss and Jenkins. People had doubts about Jenkins due to his struggles with weight, injuries and that he would be learning a new position. Legitamite concerns that have not materialized. Moss was the most explosive receiver in the history of the NFL with the Vikings. Although still relatively young, he appeared to be finished in Oakland. Then he magically becomes the same player he once was after he leaves Oakland. He obviously played possum in Oakland to get out of there for a 4th round pick. He is a discraceful scumbag. He admires his coaching abilities, but I've seen King write plenty of negative stuff about the Pats - certainly when it was en vougue to. Per usual, the masses (stupid sheep) but into it. Don't be a sheep. All that said, I stopped reading King's drivel years ago. Sometimes I felt like I was reading a coffee blog - worse even, reading about his daughter's trials and tribulations over picking a college. Enough. I think the Moss/Jenkins comparison is valid. Both had huge questions marks. Weight, health - Jenkins. Attitude, health and age. Anyway, I disagree about Moss being a scumbag. Seems that everyone that goes to Oakland just "dies." It's where careers end. Smart guy got out before it was too late.

Then how would you know? I don't really read a lot of it, admittedly, but every time I do make the mistake of getting curious about a link someone posts, it's always this lapdoggish fawning over Mumbles. Makes me want to puke. What Irish Jet said rings true. Even after a loss to Indy, he made several mentions of the Pats without mentioning the loss, 'admiring' their spirit and some other such nonsense. No criticisms at all. And no mention of a few notable Pats rivals wins, either. He's a coat-tail rider, on par with Madden's love of Favre. Well, maybe not on par, but in the same league. As far as Moss goes, I don't blame him for wanting to get out of Oakland, like I don't blame any player for wanting to get out. 'The Black Hole' has taken on a new meaning, mostly is means Al Davis' colon sucking the football life out of his own organization. I don't think he is a scumbag. But I do think he lacks focus and when he isn't placed in the perfect position to succeed, he has a large tendency to dog it on the field.

Comparing it to Madden's man-love for Favre is ridiculous. Why? 'Cause Favre does not deserve it. That, sirs, is the difference. That, and the absolute slop-fest over Favre at ESPN. Enough to make a normal person gag. I swear, Lord Favrepuke must pay them or feed 'em insider info. The only explanation. I hear yah on the Indy loss being called a victory - although I see where he's coming from. If the Jets were playing with Kellen at QB, a fourth string rb and a bag of donuts in the seconadry - I'm pretty sure they would have lost by 30. A sure fire hall of famer quarterback (regardless of whether or not he is a diva) deserves a lot more man-love than a coach that cheats and teaches his players illegal hitting (Wilfat and Harrison come as an example). Pretty easy for a coach to look brilliant when the same set of rules don't apply to him.
