lancemehl
Myself included!!!lol when we got Favre, I was pissed bescuase they treated my man Penny like s%$t, but, more important, i thought the offense was geared around a pennington guy( which the geeks will confirm the numbers prove, something about the numbers between the 2 according to the passes we throw(short ones)) and, finally, i thought it was just to sell Jerseys, Favre was finished, and didn't have his heart 100% in it, he was wishy washy. Then I saw his sling shot that looked like a penny pass when they played it in slow mo, he looked like a star in the blue and gold(not as much in the old green and white lol) and, boom, I love Favre!!! Good luck ,penny but we're kicking ur ass, no hard feelings! Well, now, I listen to NY sports radio, since the return, and all I hear is that this team is better suited for Chad, Favre's washed up, he's not impressive( six TD's, not impressive?) Buffalo at Buffalo, not impressive?), I can't believe my ears. Are the guys who call sports radio to talk jets and the guys on this forum the same people? what is it? do we like Favre, being 5-3, in first place midway through? or do we think chad would've been 6-2? I'm confused as hell. This one moron called who was a dolphin fan and said,i paraphrase, " You guys just got Favre for his name, he's no better than Chad. I'll tell you, I'm a dolphin fan and I used to hate Chad Pennington, but now, I really like him, he's a good QB!"" hahahahahahahahahahahahaha you don't say? LOL MORONS< where do we come from? Vudu
I never truly realized how negative JETS fans were until I started frequenting this website. I think we have the right to whine since as a franchise, the only highlight we have worth mentioning is 40 yr old footage of Namath holding his finger up after winning the Superbowl. JETS fans have a sort of jaded optimism. We love our team, know the potential they have, yet we always have a negative feeling about the games in the back of our minds; we wish for thebest but expect the worst. Until we win a Superbowl or go on a playoff run worthmentioning, JETS fans will always be whiny, good or bad.

JiF
2 Things... 1) We didnt treat Pennington like ****. We released him and let him decide where he wanted to play. We could have F'ed him, but instead, he F'ed us by going in the division to our rival. Once again, showing that Chadwick Pennington is one of the most selfish athletes I have ever encountered. 2) Comparing Favre to Chadwick is moronic. They are not even in the same stratosphere. Bottom line, Favre beat Chad Dolphaginton and we have a better record.

Not to pull the "I'm older than you" card (plus I'm not that much older than you), but given your stated age in the other thread, the Jets seasons you have witnessed have been relative bliss compared to what many others have had to bear. The negativity and constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop is an almost Pavlovian response to the SOJ we have come to know and love. Nothing short of a Super Bowl victory will begin to change this... right now I'd settle for a 4-5 year run of making the playoffs every year. We dont even get that. We get a sniff at the playoffs and then fall apart. Super Bowl would be awesome, but I'd really like to have a nice sustained run of competitive teams

Once they signed Favre, to be under the cap, they had to just cut Pennington. I did not want to see Pennington go to the Fish because he made them a much better team, but I can't hate him for it either, they offered him a starting job. Pennington is gone lets move on. An entire stadium cheering when their starting QB goes down, in my book, constitutes treating him like $hit, but hey, that's just my opinion. joiseyjet
I just hope he never comes back and kicks our a$$! I don`t see that happening at all. & I don`t understand why people complained about him going to our rival team ,all that did was give us the edge on knowing every weakness about him & yea the first game that counted was against Miami ,I would bet the last game of the season in our house after Brett has a full season under his built will be a lot different, and if Favre wants to play 1 more year,he`ll have to finish strong & he`ll have to do it here unless he wins us a SB ,that probobly gives him a escape clause. 4HCrew
Ok first of all Favre will be always be a media target and the retirement drama every year does not help. Missing all of the offseason camps and most of training camp also stacked the cards against him. Many people in the media love to say "I told you so" with anything that relates to the Jets. As for Chad, he was not treated like sh$t here, they released him. Not held hostage by no means. And early in the season weren't dolphin fans calling for Henne? and the whole wildcat offense was established why?

Chad's running game seems to be pretty good out in Miami, you've gotta admit. I still think it has more to do with our poor coaching than anything else. The Rams game was a huge step up, they finally started rotating plays that were working instead of always trying motion stuff that confused nobody (although they still tried it a few times especially near the beginning). I'm hoping for continued improvement out of this coaching staff. There is no reason we shouldn't win the next 2 games, easily. I expect us at 7-3 with a showdown against the Titans.
