Always thought Bill Murray and Peter Boyle in "Where the Buffalo Roam" was a superior adaptation. It had the mention of all the drugs, but it didn't beat it to death, plus it had some stuff from Thompson's covering of the 1972 election.

Tried watching this movie many times, just can't get into it.

I had the same problem at first. The movie is in two parts, just like the book, so it is pretty long and weird. IMO seeing the movie then reading the book is the way to go but to each is own. I liked the book more than the movie but still love the movie.

I'll get some acid and ponder it.

what they were doing was watching their reflections in the corners...one would swim up and then swoop back then another behind in a different spot did the same then another-it had a kaleidoscopic affect as I watched it...I could explain it better with hand motions-of course then every leave on every tree was shaped like a goldfish all night walking around town...

you kidding LS Dylan? Disney's Fantasia on acid was a right of passage into late 60's and early 70's Hippiedom

Try eating a pan of hash brownies with your college suite mates and then going to see 2001 A Space Odyssey. I flipped during the colors montage, and had to be carried out. Just a babbling mess. LOL.
