Gainzo
I didn't fully realize that Christmas is only 7 weeks away until I made a trip to Target today to pick up a present for my nephews birthday. The parking lot below was packed (Target is the huge building with the white roof) as was the store. As much as I like Christmas, I hate dealing with people who are shopping. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Commerce+Way,+Woburn,+Massachusetts+01801&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=31.28862,56.601563&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FY-wiAId35PC-w&ll=42.518019,-71.135734&spn=0.003551,0.006909&t=h&z=17&layer=c&cbll=42.516587,-71.134243

Gainzo
I do most of my shopping on line now Gainzo. Expect the retail stores to have a miserable Xmas season. I've been ordering online for the last few years and having the gifts shipped to the office. I usually do that in the 1st week of December. I couldn't believe how many people were at Target today. I will give Target a plug as they had plenty of registers open.

DMaynard
Time for Joey Porter's favorite Christmas Song: Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear (to be sung to "Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland") Lacy things -- the wife is missin', Didn't ask -- her permission, I'm wearin' her clothes, Her silk pantyhose, Walkin' 'round in women's underwear. In the store -- there's a teddy, Little straps -- like spaghetti, It holds me so tight, Like handcuffs at night, Walkin' 'round in women's underwear. On the team there's a guy named Vonnie, He pretends that I am Murphy Brown. He'll say, "Are you ready?" I'll say,"Whoa, Man!"" Let's wait until our wives are out of town!" Later on, if you wanna, We can dress -- like Madonna, Put on some eyeshade, And join the parade, Walkin' 'round in women's underwear! Lacy things... the wife is missin', Didn't ask... her permission, Wearin' her clothes, Her silk pantyhose, Walkin' 'round in women's underwear, Walkin' 'round in women's underwear, Walkin' 'round in women's underwear! war ensemble
If you have a Circuit City store nearby, google "Circuit City store closings" or something similar and check out the list to see if the one near you is on the list. Should fine some good deals as the stores get closer to closing and are on their last legs with the liquidation process. Just a heads up, as there are 150 Circuit City stores closing. None are closing in my area , but from what I've read, deals and liquidation prices haven't been great. Supposedly its the same company who did CompUSA's closing/liquidation sale. They kept advertising great discounts, but it was on crap no one really wanted deals on. Apparently they keep shifting the popular inventory around store to store where the stuff is selling. Makes business sense, but not sense for the consumer wanting a deal. The big stuff was discounted at the end and probably sold off to other stores to make a greater profit than if they sold at discount to their own customers. I heard about Circuit City... have a few in the area and need a new HDTV and surround system. I guess a little deal is better than no deal. Right now all they have is like 10% -20% off everything. Weak. It should get a bit better though.
LoneStarLady
Heard Christmas music on a TV ad already. Geez, wait until Thanksgiving, will you? While waiting to check out at Fry's Electronics this past week, a cashier there told me they open all 70 (yes, 70) cash register stations on the day after Thanksgiving.
