lawngnome o-line
The best thing about running up the score was the fact they were able to rest up some starters, and not leave the game with any injuries. They had to play for 30 minutes. The Patriots had to play for 60.

NE has a tough game against a divisional opponent and we get a creampuff opponent in the Rams. And we actually took care of business for a change! They had to play for 30 minutes. The Patriots had to play for 60. The Pats defense was hardly on the field, especially in the 2nd half. The Bills had the ball for 2:53 in the 4th quarter and ran a total of 6 plays. The Pats D got plenty of rest. Overall the TOP was 37:40 to 22:20 in the Pats favour. CTM
Great thread Jason. I notice it's much shorter in a whitewash then when we struggle Hey, cross post the game previews if you can.
jason423
Great thread Jason. I notice it's much shorter in a whitewash then when we struggle Hey, cross post the game previews if you can. There was just nothing to even say about this game. It was just destruction against a team that quit after their loss last week. Hopefully it will be this short next week too! I did post the preview here as well last week, but I think it got lost with the days of the election taking up all our time. The only reason I was even able to get it done this week was because I tore my ankle up at the gym and sat on my couch for two days. Hopefully I can get the preview up by early Tuesday with the short week and Ill have it up here as well as on my site.

ZachEY
I think it was also an important day for young TE Dustin Keller who was publicly chided by Brett Favre on the field last week on national TV. Mind is blanking... Remind me what happened here?

Yea, I missed the preview this week but it was all about the election for me. Glad to hear you're going to post it here. This one should be interesting.. Hey question, any thoughts on why we don't use playaction a lot more then we do?
jason423
Mind is blanking... Remind me what happened here? It was a play by the goalline where the Bills blitzed and Keller came off slow off the line and then didnt break into his pattern to give Favre the completion. Favre was visibly upset on the field and then the cameras showed him on the sidelines giving Keller a lecture about what he did wrong. Had the Jets lost that game I think it would have been a story, but I think this was great for Kellers confidence to come back from that and then have a huge game against St. Louis. All I can think of is that the Jets staff doesnt like it. Either that or Jones is terrible faking the ball. They didnt run it last year with Chad, where it was an absolute necessity with his arm, and they rarely run it with Favre. Besides them loving the WR screen as their fake the Jets seem to be running an awful lot of shotgun when they pass. Again that is something they have done since 2006, but its been pretty blatant these last few games. I'm not sure if they showed it on TV or not, but when Mangold went down we looked over at the sidelines and there was Favre practicing snaps with his new center. And it was all shotgun. I turned to my father and said isnt that strange especially, especially since I think it was a 2nd down and medium yards to go, and next thing you know even with the new center the first snap is shotgun which was too low and Favre flubbed the snap. But it was so blatant what was going to happen that a good team could have easily had the right personnel on the field if they just looked over at the sidelines while the Jets worked on Mangold. The staff does some weird stuff like that. They removed Cotchery for Brad Smith on one play and as soon as you saw Cotch running off to the sidelines the immediate thought that came into my head is WR screen to Smith and that was the play which was one of the few the Rams stuffed right as it happenned. Nice observations, you'd think a guy who was used to Belichick taping them on the sidelines would be a little more careful with telegraphing this stuff.. As far as play action, I just don't get it. It seems everytime we use it there's a big play of sorts.

That's the part that frustrates the hell out of me. While the gameplanning has gotten significantly better the past few weeks, we are still predictable to a detriment.
