newjakecity
When Tom Brady was quarterback, this scenario would have been unthinkable has Moss would have likely eaten Lowry for lunch. However, being that the strength for the Pats is the short passing game (led by Wes Welker), do we match up Darelle Revis on Welker and practically dare Cassell to throw it deep? Jbro22
Moss is WAY to fast for Lowery. Revis played Moss very good in Week 2, lets keep it that way. As for Lowery on Welker, well time for Lowery to step up. If we apply enough pressure on Cassel and get him rattled like we should of the first time we should be alright. Sperm Edwards
No. Revis can't cover a crossing route. (I couldn't resist.)

gangreenman
Not a bad idea. I think it may be a good idea to try out the 4-3 for a game. Line up VG, Jenkins, Mosley/Pouha, and Ellis on the DL, keep Pace, Bowens, and Thomas mostly in soft zones, have Revis blanket Welker and let Rhodes help Lowery vs. Moss deep. Make them beat us running or going deep. Don't allow any dink and dunk crap. I am very confident in our rush D, and I'm just as confident in Cassel's lack of deep play ability. I doubt Mangini does it, especially with such a short week of gameplanning, but we really need to make sure we stop the 5-7 yard passes. As the saying goes, make them go above us, around us, or under us, do NOT let them go through us.
Ghost
Revis has to stick with Moss, we need to figure something out with Welker. I know the running game for the Pats is going to be dead. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!

war ensemble
If we have Lowery on Moss, we need Rhodes covering up top, thus effectively eliminating an extra player to guard one man. Someone that could be a pass rusher. But, I don't know what would be the best option. I'm thinking Revis on Moss with some intermediate help from the linebackers and Elam playing underneath to stop Welker from breaking out too many big gains? Thai Jet
I'd put Revis on Moss and take my chances with Lowrey covering Welker. The key is to give Cassell no time the throw. Rattle the crap out of him by getting in his face. Pressure, pressure, pressure.

Rattle the crap out of him by getting in his face. Pressure, pressure, pressure. In theory that would work. But, seeing as most of Cassel's completions to Welker are relatively short/quick, it would take a tremendous pass rush to create a worthwhile pressure on those passes. I'd like to rattle him, but I don't know how effective it would be, seeing as it leaves one less man in the secondary.

Id rush 4 and make him beat us with 7 guys in coverage.
JonEJet
Not worried about Welker at all It's that little **** Faulk that pisses me off
nico002
The key to the game is to blitz the crap out of Cassell, he holds on too the ball WAY to long
ZachEY
Absolutely not. They win with the short passing game to Welker, but if we don't put someone who can keep up on Moss, they'll abuse us with deep balls. Moss is the type of player who you have to respect, even if he doesn't make that big of an impact without Brady, his mere presence on the field means you have to have Revis there to cancel him out. war ensemble
Put Revis on Moss, Lowery on Welker, and leave a linebacker to cover the flats (or blitz, if there's nothing doing there) on Welker's side. Eliminates the deep ball, and in theory should stop half of those screens and short passes.

ZachEY
Also need a guy to watch Kevin Faulk. That little **** is dangerous and annoying. Any time there wasn't something immediately open last year, the Pats went to Faulk. At the end of the day, he caused as many problems for defenses as Moss/Welker. IMO, he's huge to watch out for and should have a man on him just about always.
