Jets Babe
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-4-264/When-Jones-scores--Jets-win.html Greg Dohmann from ESPN's Stats & Information unearthed a great nugget about New York Jets running back Thomas Jones, who already has two touchdown runs Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. The Jets went into Sunday with a 6-0 record when Jones scores, including 4-0 this season. Dating to his time with the Chicago Bears, Jones' teams have won 13 straight games when he reaches the end zone. Make it 7-0 for the Jets and 14 straight. The Jets were ahead 40-0 at halftime. SMC
To think, Thomas Jones is 5th overall in rushing and leads the AFC in rushing. Heck, he has a Jets un-heard of 4.7 yards per carry average.

Well the fact that he has a line now..just might help...he always was a good back and his stats this year prove it...he does not have to make it all on his own now ! serphnx
Jones has looked good the past several weeks, when i've posted in the game threads I've commented on it. But nobody should ever confuse him for LT in his prime, AP, or any other truly elite back. Jones is more a product of our O-line dominating. As was Curtis Martin. Jones is serviceable as long as he is not paid as a top back. If he wants that money, we should just trade him somewhere for a 1st rounder, and use that pick to get an RB that will do the same or better. As our OL goes, so does TJ. His vision of late has been good though I admit. But he is not fast enough nor does he have the moves to ever be a truly elite back. When it comes down to it, if we are to win an SB, it'll probably be because of the defense and Favre.
