It is Keller Time

I have a feeling this guy is going to become Favre's #1 target from here on. Yesterday, he was who we thought he would be (pardon, Denny Green). Too fast for LBers and safeties and too big for CBs. Favre really seems to like him personally, as well. He mentions Keller a lot and seems to really get excited when Keller contributes.

He is also, as advertised, a lousey blocker. On one running play near the goal line, the defender just pushed Keller down the LOS until he stuffed TJ. Hopefully, in the off-season he will bulk up some in his first NFL conditioning program and spend a lot of time on blocking technique. If his blocking improves enough, he can be on the field enough to possibly become another Gonzales, Gates, Winslow. Then in standard formation situations on 1st and 2nd downs, he can really take advantage of mismatchs.

I think so too, because neither Coles or Cotch has emmerged as Brett's fav. target. When Tannenbaum went after him in the draft, they were hoping to get a Dallas Clark type TE- well he looked like Clark yesterday with the big plays down the middle. I think the future is bright for this kid; even just the rest of the season i think he will improve & the more Favre is confident in him, the better!

Yesterday's pass reminded me of the exact reason why he was being compared to the likes of a Dallas Clark... :headbang:

He'll be a very good player for the Jets IMO. He can't block worth a damn but he can stretch the field and is another target for Favre.

This is surprising to no one. He was brought in as a guy who can create headaches for opposing D's and catch passes.

Chemistry and timing between QB and receiver is so critical. Once you have it with a receiver , like Penny and Coles, it's a thing of beauty . It builds confidence and he becomes your "go to" guy. I can see it building with Brett and Keller.
