Ok as much as the NE game is important

what if the Jets lose to the Pats and beat the Titans? anything lost or gained? Sure it is a divisional loss but the Jets would still be in the hunt. This game is HUGE for the Jets but the season is not over if they lost. Just would make things a lot more challenging to get into the playoffs.

Prime time road game on a short week? Jets probably should lose. I'm fired up for this week, but Vegas has the Pats as favorites. You can't be shocked if they lose.

W-L record the same...but...the feeling about this team will not be the same. Right now I'm feeling confident that this team is a legit contender for the Lombardi Trophy. That they will go into Foxboro and take the AFCE from the crippled and decimated Pats in a hard fought game. Right now Jets are the better team. Maybe not next year, but going into this game, Yes! Mentally, the Pats own the Jets, but physically we are better.

Jets 40-0 first half dominance against the Rams. Pats played them and "survived". It is now that we have to get this BB-Monkey off our backs and dispose of them. The only thing stopping the Jets is themselves. If they are focused-confident, and execute the gameplan...Jets will win. If not...

I have to disagree. We lose this game to the Pats and end up tied at the end of the year, then they hold the tie breaker...we need this game!

If we are going to enjoy this season (playoffs) the JETS need to win this game...

Let me expand though...

IF we are REALLY going to enjoy this seaosn... (deep into playoffs/superbowl) the JETS need to beat the Pats and the Titans...

Here is why... both teams are GREAT matchups for the JETS

The Pats have Cassell at QB and the JETS have a D that can stop that offense all day, unless of course BB finds a way to outsmart Mangini again...

The Pats D is old and slow... the Line is the only really GREAT part of that D... and the JETS Oline is great as well... its a wash...

The Titans have Kerry Collins and Jmac as their all star passing game... lol enough said

The Titans rely on their run game, the JETS have a great run D (Thanks Jenkins)

The Titans have a great Dline, the Jets have a great Oline...

The JETS match up too good against these teams to screw it up... the talent is there... time to put it together...

The main thing about a loss thursday night to the pats would be the awful feeling that comes with waking up with a bad hangover next to an ugly pig.

You would rather beat New England than defeat Tennessee if you were signing off on a 1-1 record. If you lose to New England, you are now 0-2 against them and would require either a 2 game swing to overtake them for the division or a 3 way tie with Miami where we swept Miami and Miam swept the Patriots. Even then that just brings you to a common opponent tiebreaker and a loss to Oakland and San Diego is going to hurt and you still may end up third in that tiebreaker.

The Jets would now be in a position where they have to sweep Miami and Buffalo to eliminate a tie with either of them at the top of the division. The Jets division record would be 3-3 if they lost to NE and did not defeat either of those two squads. That would be a good chance to lose a tiebreaker within the division. If in that case the final two spots came down to the Dolphins, Jets, and say the Ravens and the Jets had a better conference record than Baltimore it wouldn’t matter. Ravens go in over Miami based on head to head and Miami is over the Jets based on a better divisional record.

Agree. I would not write this team off for losing a game at NE. It's a big game but it should not (though it will be) written off as a season ending game should we lose.

there are no must win games until you are facing elimination.

this is a huge game for us though if we wanna take the division though. it'll be a long 10 days til next sunday if we lose.

the jets will win this game though. We will shut the crowd up early by scoring on our 1st drive. the rythum will continue & open up oppurtunities for our D

It's important because it's against the pats, because it's a divisional game, and because it's against the pats. Really though if it was the playoffs now, it would be the most important games.
