"We go to the 1 -- or the half-yard line -- then spike the ball when, all of a sudden, officials tell us they're going to look at the replay. While they're looking at it, the ball stays at the 1. So we send in a play. Then, when they make their decision, they move the ball back to the

SoFlaJets
it was a crappy call from the 2 or the 1...very Paul Hackett-ish running right into the teeth of the defense. As my wife would comment watching the Jets do it time and time again during the Edwards era (error?) "why do they keep running into that big pile?" Seriously I thought they were gonna spike the ball.....horrible call no doubt. They didn't even run it with Gore....WTF?!
ECURB
Seriously I thought they were gonna spike the ball.....horrible call no doubt. They didn't even run it with Gore....WTF?! The thinking was to take Gore out (make the D think they are going to put the ball in the Qb's hands) and try to soften up the middle by forcing the LB's to take an extra second to react to the run because they are expecting a pass... Thats why you see backups break HUGE runs sometimes while the starter is being shut down... The play made sense... just hard to expect ANYTHING to work under those circumstances... True, but Martz got too cute. Martz was the one who screwed up with clock management and then compounded it with calling that play.

#90
Maybe, Martz can borrow Krafthole's knee pads and go pay a visit to Roger "God Bless The Patriots" Goodell!
LurkerKing
Goodell is the one on his knees, not kraft.

Boozer76
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3696990 Someone needs to remind Martz that he's not on the Pats. Looks like Goodell went ahead and gave Martz a $20k reminder that he's not on the Pats.
